We actually live in Minnesota. So when I saw the review written about Ethel's Grill, I had to comment about it because on our last trip there in the winter 2010 we stopped there to eat. It was great.
We were in a party of 4 and were looking for something fresh and uniquely Hawaiian to eat. So naturally when we saw the long line to get in, we new it had to have something going on. We were greeted warmly, (I think they could tell we were from out of town. Our Pale Minnesota skin gave us away) and the staff, even though the place was packed with hungery customers, they took the time to tell us about the different dishes they had. Everyone at Ethel's made us feel very welcome. They shared their Aloha with us.
So, if you are a tourist and are looking for the Freshist food and the best value for your money. You must stop at Ethel's Grill. The outside appearence may not be what your expecting as a tourist and of course you may have to stand in line. But once you do, and you taste the food and enjoy the charm of this little jem, you will be in a place just like heaven.
Wow. That sounded just like the food critic that I'm not. But everything I said was true. Mahalo to everyone at Ethel's Grill. We'll be back this December.
