When we arrived at Glow Worm cottages, we were advised that our booking wasn't there. Luckily I'd printed out confirmations of all the bookings I made before we left, and so we were offered an upgrade, and with a bit of negotiation, we were given it for the same price as the room we'd originally booked.
We ended up with a 'hotel room' which included ensuite, kitchenette, bed and tv. It was the first kitchenette we'd had on our trip so we enjoyed cooking a home-made meal as a follow-up to our free soup supplied in the common room. This area was full of people, and I'd imagine if you stayed in the bunk/hostel part of the establishment, they'd all be lovely and friendly, however they eyed us like strangers.
The place was a good one to stay at for the glacier guides tours the next morning, although the bed itself had a definite roll toward the middle, making it a bit of an uncomfortable sleep as I tried to keep to my side of the bed!
