“Basic but reasonable location - could be better value”

We stayed at the 6th Avenue Inn for three nights when we were starting a road trip from Seattle to Las Vegas. It's a fairly short walk from the coach station which makes it cheap to get to from the airport and manageable even with a fair amount of luggage. There are also some great bars a few streets away, although it's a schlep to the main part of town (we only walked it a couple of times).

The room itself was large and reasonably clean, although the shower was not exactly powerful. My one issue was with the staff - not particularly friendly or helpful, took far too long to check us in (there were two staff on duty, neither of whom paid us any attention for 15 minutes so we were stood like lemons while they both appeared to be checking the computer for a while). No recommendations about local places to go or eat - the small lobby has some leaflets but we were looking for advice about a local restaurant. Ended up walking and finding somewhere great anyway.

Fabulous trip and we'll go back to Seattle again - but we're not staying here. Other places in the area offered much better service and nicer rooms for a similar rate.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us at the Sixth Avenue Inn. I am glad to hear that your room was satisfactory, but very sorry to hear about your experience with the front desk staff. I noticed your stay was back in September of last year, which was one of our busiest times, so perhaps the front desk was a little backed up. However, that is not an excuse as our hotel prides itself on the customer service that we provide and do not like to have a single one of our guests feel as if they were overlooked. I promise that if you give the Sixth Avenue Inn another chance, you will not be disappointed. Thank you once again for your time, and and staying with us at the Sixth Avenue Inn.

“I was not disappointed”

I was not sure just what to expect from this hotel. I had read great reviews and not so great reviews. I was not disappointed. The hotel was very clean throughout. Appeared to be new carpet, paint, etc. The hotel staff was excellent, the on site restaurant and lounge were very nice and the breakfast fantastic. Free WiFi that was excellent (wireless starting next week). Within walking distance of everything I wanted to see. I had no issue with street noise but I could see where this could be a problem as sound does seem to carry through the windows very easily. The hotel is only 5 stories so you are not very high above noise if it is there. Like I said it was not an issue for me. If you are on a budget or just want to save your money for the great food in the city I would highly recommend this hotel. All the old reviews I read regarding a worn out facility were no longer valid from my experience.

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feeback about your stay with The Sixth Avenue Inn. The hotel has been undergoing step-by-step renovations and are continuing to do so. Our highspeed internet is nearly completed now, having wireless internet throughout the entire hotel. We are very happy to hear that you had such a great experience with our staff and restaurant, and would love for you to stay with us again the next time you visit Seattle.

“The Sixth Avenue Inn is gem of hospitality tucked into downtown Seattle.”

I have stayed at all of the "big hotels" in downtown Seattle over the past ten years, and a friend suggested the Sixth Avenue Inn as an alternative to the cookie cutter feel of work travel. I will be a returning customer to the Sixth Avenue Inn. From the moment of check-in it is clear that you are a guest of an extended family of hospitality staff who really care about how "their inn" takes care of you. The rooms are clean, comfortable and include micro waves/frigs large TV's, internet service and most rooms have great views of downtown and the space needle. There is a restaurant and bar on the second floor, and it features good home made food, great service, and a warm "small town" atmosphere in the middle of downtown. You are in walking distance to the water or uptown, and local free bus service is right around the block. Don't miss this gem.

Thank You so much for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. We cannot begin to explain how happy we are to hear about your great experience in Seattle and at the Sixth Avenue Inn. At our hotel, we strive to provide the best customer service that we can, that often times gets overlooked in a large metropolitan city like downtown Seattle. “Great hotel, even better staff”

Sixth Avenue Inn is a needle in a hay stack in the hotel world. Not only are their employees helpful and welcoming, the hotel itself is clean and comfortable. I have stayed at many hotels across Canada and the United States and Sixth Avenue Inn takes the cake for the best staff and overall best experience.

“Great little place to stay!”

We stayed here for one night before our cruise to Alaska. We have never been to Seattle before and was surprised to see how expensive it was for a hotel room here. We saw the Sixth Ave inn on a website and liked the price. We decided to take a chance since it was for only one night. We were so pleasantly surprised! The hotel was old but very clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful!!! It was a great location also! We could the Space Needle from in front of the hotel and it was walking distance to Pike Place and lots of shopping places. The restaraunt was wonderful for dinner!! Best pot roast and they have a chicken and dumpling soup that is WONDERFUL! We will be staying here again for sure!

Thank you very much for your kind words, as well as staying with us at The Sixth Avenue Inn. We are happy that you had a chance to eat at our wonderful onsite restaurant that has become very well known in the local Downtown Seattle area. We are in an extensive process of renovating the hotel, so we hope you will come see us again, perhaps before another cruise!
