“Adequate. A place to put your head down and that's it...”
I needed a hotel for a one-night stay in Greensboro while I was in town for a concert. A number of hotels were booked and we settled on this one. It is about one mile, and walking distance, from the Greensboro Coliseum.
On the outside the hotel is somewhat impressive. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The lobby was clean and pleasant. They give you a four digit code in which you pass through a gate and park your car in the rear. Based on the lobby and outside appearance--this is a three star property.
However, the room was lacking. The room was generously sized but had much wear around the edges. The towels were paper thin, the sheets cheap, and it was evident the room likely has the same furnishings since being placed in the room in the '80s or early '90's. The clock radio was flashing 12:00 and the handle to the bathroom door seemed ready to fall off. The air conditioner was incredibly loud and we had to turn it on the 'fan' setting just to be able to sleep.
Overall, this is a adequate hotel. I felt safe, you get a free breakfast buffet with your room (not great but again, adequate), and its a decent place to stay. However, I believe this hotel is a bit past its prime and needs a major renovation. If you have to spend more than one night here and don't mind spending a few more dollars, I would suggest exploring other options. If you are a undiscriminating traveller just looking for a basic place to stay, this is not a bad choice.
