“Adequate. A place to put your head down and that's it...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2008

I needed a hotel for a one-night stay in Greensboro while I was in town for a concert. A number of hotels were booked and we settled on this one. It is about one mile, and walking distance, from the Greensboro Coliseum.

On the outside the hotel is somewhat impressive. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The lobby was clean and pleasant. They give you a four digit code in which you pass through a gate and park your car in the rear. Based on the lobby and outside appearance--this is a three star property.

However, the room was lacking. The room was generously sized but had much wear around the edges. The towels were paper thin, the sheets cheap, and it was evident the room likely has the same furnishings since being placed in the room in the '80s or early '90's. The clock radio was flashing 12:00 and the handle to the bathroom door seemed ready to fall off. The air conditioner was incredibly loud and we had to turn it on the 'fan' setting just to be able to sleep.

Overall, this is a adequate hotel. I felt safe, you get a free breakfast buffet with your room (not great but again, adequate), and its a decent place to stay. However, I believe this hotel is a bit past its prime and needs a major renovation. If you have to spend more than one night here and don't mind spending a few more dollars, I would suggest exploring other options. If you are a undiscriminating traveller just looking for a basic place to stay, this is not a bad choice.

Our all around experiance was great. It was an average limites service hotel. The front desk went out of their way to help me. The staff was very knowledgable and helpful.
The rooms wer clean, and breakfast was good.

Give them a try, you will be happily surprised! I certianly was.

“It wasn't horrible, but I would have rather stayed someplace else”

I was supposed to stay at the Sheraton Four Seasons for a convention, but it was booked so I was placed at this hotel. It was OK, but I would have prefered to be someplace else. The housekeeping staff was vacumming the hallway late in the evening (like at 11:30pm) both nights I was there. If you're looking for an average, middle of the road hotel without many frills, this place might be for you. It was very centrally located.

“I don't recommend staying here...”

As a female travelling alone, I was very uncomfortable with this hotel and only stayed one night before switching to another hotel in the area. There was some sort of Smell that i can't describe but that made me ill every time i stepped out of the elvator. The sheets on the bed were obviously old, and i questioned whether or not they were clean. There were ants in the bathroom, and a hairball on one of the towels. I tried to order room service, but the food was less than impressive, and they had no alcohol (i enjoy a glass of wine with dinner) on the premisis. The entire hotel was dimly lit, and looked very run down.

The Park Lane hotel offered:

* Very clean rooms
* Great service [despite being completely booked]
* Decent warm breakfast

I would definitely book again with them. I travel alot, so am able to evaluate based on experience. They did a great job.
