I have stayed at this hotel once before, maybe twice. The hotel is somewhat difficult to access due to the roadway (no hotel control). The area is not the best part of town but not the worst. The parking is horrible! The entrance and exterior appearance is nice. Th lobby is modern and welcoming, but they did not have the traditional cookies for guest arrival. The front desk is lacking in service. The phones were ringing off the hook. I stood in line for 10+ mins while one representative attempted to check-in 3 guest and answer four calls. After I briefly mentioned that she was short staffed, she stated she was use to it. It's just not acceptable to only have one person working during the peak check-in hours. I am Diamond member and did not receive a room upgrade, and normally don't with Hampton Inn's but I also did not receive my diamond privileges specifically my water or snack in the room. My room door knob was sticking but I was able to enter the room with a little force. The cable TV and wifi was great. The room fixtures, colors, and designs are fantastic. I am huge fan of the LED desk lamp. The bathrooms are spacious and well equipped with towels. It was disappointing that the room lacks a mini fridge and microwave, and the desk chair is very uncomfortable.

We haved stayed at this HI several times. The hotel is always clean and they are located just across from all the shops and restaurants on River St. The hotel is also close to the squares in the historic district.

The staff is always friendly there, and they have a hot breakfast and a bar with TV's where you can watch sports. There is a pool and sitting area on the rooftop, which is a great place to enjoy the view of the river with a nice glass of wine.

Driving in to unload your bags can be a challenge due to the tight parking, and location of the hotel. Valet parking is recommended. Overall this hotel has a great location, nice staff and is a very good value.

Room tip: Ask for a corner room facing north (Bay St.). These rooms cost a little more but are more spacious and have better views.

We were so fortunate to stay at the Hampton Inn on Bay Street. The location is perfect, giving easy access to River Street and the rest of the Historic District. With this location there is no need to rent a car. The breakfast was very good and all food was rapidly replenished. Rooms were very clean, as well as the pool and the lobby area. The assistant manager and his staff were the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever come across. They really made you feel at home.

We only spent one night at the Hampton Inn Savannah as we were just passing through, but I wish that we had had more time there. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome, check in was a breeze and our room was ready for us. We had requested a high river view room and that's just what we got. The room was clean - a double queen sized room as we stayed we had our 13 year old son with us and it had coffee maker, fridge, microwave etc.

The location of this hotel is perfect - right in the middle of things, close to River Street and all the beautiful squares in Savannah. We were able to walk everywhere and made the most of our time in this beautiful city. The hotel also has a swimming pool on the roof with beautiful views of the river and the Savannah skyline - although we didn't spend much time on the roof, it is well worth going up there just for the view.

Breakfast in the morning was great and there was plenty of food and the staff was attentive. If I am ever back in Savannah, then I will be sure to stay here again.

Room tip: ask for a high river view

I just enjoyed a wonderful lady's weekend in Savannah with my mother, sister, and our pals. We shared two rooms in our memorable four-night stay at the Hampton Inn in the Historic District. My favorite part of our stay at the Hampton was the friendly, helpful, and hard-working staff. Everyone from the valet, breakfast servers, front desk, and housekeeping were extremely warm and inviting. From the cookies and coffee station to the valet desk, it was evident the staff was working as a team to ensure that everyone has great service and a great stay. After we checked out and had left the area, I realized I had forgotten some items in my room. When I called back, the house keeping office had found the items for me and got them ready to ship to my address first thing in the morning. How impressive!! Absolutely wonderful service all around!

This Hampton Inn is located in the heart of the historic district, between River Street and all the historical homes, parks, restaurants, stores, and churches. It is the perfect location if you are hoping to walk all around town. The hotel itself is great for the price, with exposed brick, hardwood floors, and my favorite . . . a rooftop pool.

If I ever come back, I will definitely look to stay here again. Best value in town!
