Oriole Park @ Camden Yards is nearing it's 20 year mark. Opened in 1992, the Stadium has been copied by many of the newest stadiums around the country in some form or another. One thing that no other stadium has been able to duplicate is Camden Yards amazing backdrop, with the Warehouse in right field seemingly looming over the action, and partial views of the city from center field over toward left field. I have been going to the Yard since it opened. I have taken my sons since they were babies to O's games. Now they are old enough to do their own thing, but it still is a great place for us to go now and have a good time. Having sat in nearly every level of the stadium, I would have to recommend getting the Left Field Club seats for a family outing, or even a get together w/friends. Check the O's website for section numbers (I believe it's 272-288), that offer "All You Can Eat" along with the price of admission, which is $40, $55 for games vs BOS or NYY. Not only that, but you're in Club Level seating, which gives you access to the Club area and it's eating areas and bars. This is the same area where Luxury Box owners enter, and the entire level is kept sparkling clean. Also, good if it's a hot afternoon game, as the level is climate controlled, you can get out of the heat for awhile. If you want to go cheaper than that, very good views from Center field are available in the Eutaw St. bleacher sections for less than $20. There really isn't any bad seat in the place, although upper rows of some of the lower level seating have obstructed views of balls that are high in the air, and some of the score board, due to the overhang of the upper deck. Prior to the games, one of our favorite activities over the years has been getting autographs from players. The best place for this is the Plaza @ the back side of the Stadium. You'll know you're there if you can look in front of you and see the Ravens stadium. This area is where the O's players come in and park their cars in the player lot, and where visiting players are dropped off by cabs to enter the stadium. While there is no guarantee on getting everyone you see to sign, we've had a lot of success here, collecting hundreds of autographs. You'll want to plan for a long day if you set out to do this, small children will probably not do well w/this if it's a hot, sunny day. For a night game, players can arrive at any time during the day, but most start coming in the early afternoon, between 1-4, depending on the team, all have to report there by around 4:30 or 5. After games, players are sometimes more likely to sign for you in this area, as the crowds usually have gone home by the time they come out. Never know who you'll see here, I've seen Rob Reiner, Steven King, and Pat Sajak, to name a few in this area after games. Prior to the start of games, more to the point - during Batting Practice, the staff at the Stadium is very gracious in allowing fans to wander down to the front rows of the lower level to get photos, and maybe, autographs of players. It has been my experience that it is more or less hit and miss where players might stop to sign for you, but generally it is most often beyond either dugout, out toward the outfield. If you can get there, most visiting teams will have some players sign between the dugout and home plate, a very limited space to access. Others here have rated the Ballpark Tour, which I also strongly recommend doing, as others have. Be sure to get one of the earlier tours, as the late ones sometimes do not allow access to the dugout, due to players being in the stadium and possibly being in the dugout area. Hope this helps someone, and even if you're not an O's fan - enjoy the best ball park in America.
