I stayed at this hotel from 02-24-10 to 02-28-10. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were a bit too soft for me.(I prefer a firm bed.) However, I will be returning to NYC soon and will definitely stay at this hotel again. The Nice Matin resturant was nice also.

I spent a week at the Lucerne with my mother during a cold week in December. We needed to be on the upper west side, and this was a fine choice in terms of accommodations, location, access to a variety of food choices, as well as transportation (cabs, buses and subway).

Our room was on the corner of Amsterdam and 79th, so there was a lot of traffic noise. Request a room on the highest floor possible to minimize the street noise. The room was nice - 2 beds, a desk, dresser, television, and a small bathroom. Everything was updated and the beds were warm and comfortable. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room.

We had a wonderful 6 night stay at the Lucerne in January. The Upper West Side location was great (close to subway, Central Park, museums) and it was good to be away from the hyper activity of midtown. Hotel is nothing flashy but clean, comfortable and extremely quiet. Highly recommended.
