My sisters, mother, sister-in-law and I ended up staying at this hotel because we booked it through priceline.com by naming our own price. Because we booked the room on priceline.com, it was only a single bed, which would not work for all of us, so I called the hotel and asked that we upgrade the room to two double beds, and it was no trouble at the time. I called two days before we left to make sure that we were all set and the reservationist said we were still fine for the two double beds with the upgrade fee.
When we arrived, we waited almost an hour to check-in because there was a "glitch" with our priceline.com reservation. Apparently the reservationist was not supposed to upgrade our room and they only have 10 rooms with two double beds in the ENTIRE hotel. The manager, Chris, came and straightened everything out, although him saying that he was going to "take care" of the person who did this was not very tactful to me.
They only have two, very small, elevators and when you reach the hallways, they are very dark and narrow. I was amazed that the bellhop fit the baggage cart in the elevator! We ended up taking the stairs multiple times because we waited so long for an elevator.
We were pleased to see that the hotel was steps from Time Square which made it very convenient to get to everything! Personally, I think this is the best thing about the hotel.
We did need ice a few times and found it almost amusing that they didn't have one ice machine in the entire hotel! We had to call room service every time we needed ice (complementary).
There was no fridge in the room, so we had to store our leftovers in the employee fridge, which was inconvenient. We should have checked before we left, but not all of our leftovers made it back to us. I think some of them were put in a different spot. Oh well, no Little Italy for the husband back home.
Overall, the experience at the hotel was average. The main reason why we would return is the location. So, I would recommend this hotel as long as people know that they are paying for location and not the basic amenities in the hotel.
