The hotel is currently going through renovations and will take about 6 months to complete. The rooms are noisy at night and the heaters make odd noises that may keep you up at night. For the price, I thought it was a great deal and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to visiting again once renovations are complete because it's location is ideal and the staff has no fault in the current changes.

Would not recommend until all renovations are completed but I consider it average for right now.

Room tip: Do not pick a room with an outside window because noise issues will be worse if streets are busy.

Stayed for 3 nights in June 2014, travelling solo. Was impressed when I arrived, but not the good kind of impressed. I knew that it wasn't a great hotel, seeing the pictures, but it was really bad.
The room is tiny, stained carpets, bed was not good. Bathroom didn't seem clean, shower was very very very small, and I had to bend my knees in order to rinse my head. And I'm a small person! At least the water was very warm.
You do have free wi-fi, and the reception staff was helpful.
It is well located, just a couple of minutes walking from Union Square.
If you're looking only at location vs price, you can stay here, but you should expect a poor room. I wouldn't recommend it though.

The location of this place is great, right in the heart of Chinatown. I am 6'2 and the beds are barely 6feet long. The shower head barely reached my neck and since the showers are small definitely have a stretch before you contort your body in there. The hotel is basically just a small bed in an emotionless room but where it is situated is superb.

Room tip: If you are short it will do.

All I can say is that this hotel is poor, it is very expensive to stay in Sanfran so we took a mid range hotel stay here, still paying about £85 a night.

Location wise it is perfect, however the hotel is filthy, the bed had a whole in the middle so your feet are up in the air, and our friends had dirty clothes in their bed when they arrived as their room had not been cleaned.

In the end we had enough and moved hotel as it was just too dirty.

Hotel staff are friendly enough, but I would not stay here ever again.

All staff very pleasant, room ok but did have a strange smell to it. lift needs to be renovated and a new one installed. free coffee in the morning and free wifi. clean and comfortable room with very helpful and polite staff.

What more could you ask for at the price you pay! if you want 5 stars stay somewhere else, honestly people are ridiculous in their reviews.

Coming from a Hotel Manager in England :)
