We arrived late in the evening and Fred was waiting for us. Upon our arrival, and knowing that this was our first trip to Williamsburg, he made sure that we were well-acquainted with the layout of the town, and gave us plenty of ideas for our stay. The B&B is located close to the College of William and Mary and only about a 10-15 minute walk to Colonial Williamsburg.
We slept in the Captain John Smith room during our two-night stay. It was clean and well-decorated, and had a very comfortable bed. The ensuite bathroom was stocked with soap, shampoo, and make-up remover towelettes. It was apparent that a great deal of care was taken by Fred and Jane to maintain the rooms and indeed the house in general.
Both mornings, Jane cooked us a wonderful, filliing breakfast. The sweet potato pancakes were our favourite.
Overall, we feel that this was a great value, and should we ever be in Williamsburg again, they certainly have our business.
On a side note, for those hoping to visit Colonial Williamsburg, we offer this piece of advice. Although there is no admission cost, tickets are required to enter a number of the more interesting sites and tours. We would recommend getting tickets, if only on your first trip.
