just returned from a weeks stay at the aloe club, stayed in room 241 excellent room, large living area with kitchen even though we stayed all inclusive, we would definately say the all inclusive was worth the money the food was excellent ,a little repetitive but good , and you can help yourself to wine, sangria , beer and soft drinks at meal times, breakfast was very good. the pools are lovely but only one is heated which we didnt discover till our last day also the pools we sat by were extremley windy even though there was hot sun the breeze cooled you down to being cold, however if you sat by the other pools were the heated one is its a sun trap with only a small breeze. the entertainment guys are great but the entertainment at night is limited there is something going on most nights but it doesn't last long, when we spoke to the staff about this they said it was because it was low season and they normally get alot of swiss families who go to bed early with kids and like quiet and that it was unusual that there was more english than swiss here at the moment, so unless you got talking it is extremley quiet, we did eat out once a bar called seven pints, it shows the football, the food you order here comes from the rock cafe next door and for 6.50 euros was excellent, but the drinks were 4 and 4.50 euros each, very expensive but a nice night, the old town by the harbour is lovely also but with being all inclusive we never went out much, the free coach to the beach is handy altough coming back at 1pm is to early so a taxi back was only 3.50 euro, the beach is gorgeous and if you walk further down the wath gets better, no rocks, however it is a nudest bach the further you walk. the only negative point we had was that there was an awful smell which came and went throughout the resort, which was in our room alot, the hotel said it was a sewage problem on the island, they didn't hesitate to move us but in the end if you left the patio door open the smell did go away so we stayed put , all the staff were lovely and all spoke excellent english, we would def return to the aloe club on an all inclusive basis, dont no if we would go in peak season as it would be to busy, going now ment no one was up till 8am and them only a few at breakfast and sun didn't really shine till 10am so no rush at all for sunbeds, even returning from the beach ay 4pm you could still get a sun bed, excellent hotel.

Just got back from a stay at Aloe Club Resort. We booked the holiday through Bookableholidays.co.uk (not a very good experience.. Hint.. If you can't find a telephone number on a website then avoid!) about 1 week before we travelled.

First the positives:
We found the staff all friendly, polite and hard working - a fantastic thing to be able to say!
Good pools (one heated)
Generally nice complex
Free bus to a very VERY nice beach in the dunes. Leaves at 10am comes back at 1pm.
Food and drink prices reasonable from the hotel 'bar' (€1.50 for a beer and about €2.50 for a toasted sandwich) - although on site shop a bit pricey but handy and sells child tins for less than the bar!)
Free wi-fi below reception

Negatives:
We got an initial bad impression when having to pay €8 for a kettle in our room (we're British and can't do without a cup of tea after all!) and we would consider this a standard item. Safe was €15 and both needed a deposit.
Maintenance was a bit slack - had to hand the hold shower since hook was broken, sliding wardrobe door didn't slide (had to pick it up to move it) chord on rolling blind was broken meaning I had to stand on a chair and wind it up by hand etc...
No balcony with our room (351) which was disappointing. Most rooms do have one so make sure you request it..
Little way from the centre and beaches although the reception will order you a taxi (about €3.50ish) that turns up in a very short time. Easy walking distance for those that enjoy a little walk mind..
We got woken up on several mornings by something outside that sounded as though it needed an oil but never worked out what it was..

Plenty good places to eat if you are staying self catering. We headed for the harbour area most nights..

For the price we paid I'd say it was reasonable value - only let down by a few bad points.. It could be great apart from these few things..

We have just got back from a weeks stay at the Aloe Club Resort - we had a brilliant holiday despite a few things. I will try sum everything up that I would have found useful to read before we went! Here goes:

Food/Drinks:

We paid £400 per person for an all inclusive stay however we found the food to be terrible!! Before we went we read some reviews saying that you get what you pay for but I would have expected at least something edible for the price to be honest! We tried the food a couple of times but it was the same selection so decided that if we wanted something that we could eat other than chips then we would have to eat out so we ventured out into Corralejo. Basically if you're staying at this hotel I would advise that you opt to stay self catering and cook for yourselves as some guests did or eat out.

The drinks were also a bit poor to be honest - there is a hatch at the back end of the restaurant where you are served your drinks which are served in paper cups without ice (unless you specifically ask for ice!) Also if you have finished your evening meal and want a drink whilst it is meal hours then good luck with that because they seem to be cutting back on staff with only 2 members looking after the bar and restaurant so the bar gets neglected!

(FYI: We found a really nice Mexican restaurant in Corralejo (Mexcan Cantina) that was delicious and reasonably priced. There is also a rock cafe that serves a selection of different foods e.g burgers/pizza/fajhitas and it is really cheap here too plus everything is cooked to order and very tasty!! You can get a large pizza for 6 euros that serves two people!! They also have a live band on here in the evening.)

Hotel:

The hotel is really nice, we don't have any complaints at all about the hotel.

We stayed in an apartment with a pool view next to the kids club and play area. The only annoying thing we found was that the kids were screaming between 8.30am and 9.30am as this must be playtime!

If you are also staying in an apartment you can expect to find a large living area with a french door leading onto a patio area. The living area has two sofas, tv (only one english channel which is sky news), coffee table and a fridge. The double bedroom consists of two single beds pushed together, french door, two large double wardrobes with coat hangers, extra bedding and a safe which can be used for about 5 euros for the week.

You can also get optional extras for a fee like air conditioning which we never bothered with. It may be worth noting to some people that you might want to take a travel kettle as it was 10 euros to rent one for the week!

The hotel has 4 main swimming pools but they are absolutely freezing so we were unable to swim in them and despite it being sunny they still felt colder than an ice lake!

The hotel also has a little shop which is open in the morning from about 9am until 12 noon. The shop closes for the afternoon and reopens at 4pm for a couple of hours. It offers a selection of general convenience things such as water, pop, ice creams, crisps,choc/sweets, toiletries and a few veg and tinned foods. The shop is very expensive though - eg. a 1 litre bottle of water cost 1 euro and the local supermarket offers 5 litres for the same price.

Entertainment:

Well there really isn't much to write about the entertainment to be honest because there wasn't any really!

Throughout the day you can play football some afternoon and archery on the odd morning and thats it for the day. There isn't even any music around the pool throughout the day!

Then on an evening throughout the whole week there was one family quiz that took place in the hotel bar and lasted 20 minutes.

The hotel bar area opens at 9.30pm until 11.30pm but is very dingey with no music. Whilst we were there we went one evening and there were only about 4-6 people sitting in this area around the bar.

There is a pool table in the hotel bar that can be used on an evening and then there is one outside which can be used throughout the day (although it isn't level) both cost 1 euro per game.

The hotel offers internet access which is about 1 euro for 5 minutes on the computers but they also offer free WiFi which we weren't aware of before we went.

The rooms are cleaned 5 days out of 7 and the maids do a fab job. Again the only annoying thing was that they knocked us up at 9am everyday which I guess is just pot luck dependant on where your room is located! If you would like clean towels on the 2 days out of 7 when the maids don't come round you can take your old towels up to reception and exchange them for clean ones! :)

Staff:

All the staff do their jobs well but don't expect excellent customer service. When we arrived at the hotel we were given our room number and a pathetic attempt at a map then sent on our way! Luckily we found it after 10 minutes but there are so many rooms it could have easily taken a lot longer as there were no sign or staff to help us find it!

The bar/restaurant staff are pretty much the same - they will help you if you ask but are not interested in chit chat!

We found the reception staff throughout the day to be the most friendly and helpful. They also ring a taxi for you if you don't fancy the 40 minute walk into Corralejo. (A taxi cost 3.75 euro into Corralejo and 2.90 euro from Corralejo back to the hotel)

To sum it up it is a nice hotel and we would return but we would definately stay self catering!

i holidayed with 6 friends age between 40 and 60.we dropped on a poor week weatherwise but thoroughly enjoyed our time there.as most reviews have said,foods o.k,rooms very clean,entertainment very limited,staff really friendly,drinks taste of what they should,fair location.2 bad points---do not use the butter[buy your own] and watch the coffee machine you on occasions get a mixture of chocolate and coffee which we called coffolate.you will enjoy if you do not expect 4 star.
