“you get what it says on the label”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2010

i holidayed with 6 friends age between 40 and 60.we dropped on a poor week weatherwise but thoroughly enjoyed our time there.as most reviews have said, foods o.k,rooms very clean, entertainment very limited, staff really friendly, drinks taste of what they should, fair location.2 bad points---do not use the butter[buy your own] and watch the coffee machine you on occasions get a mixture of chocolate and coffee which we called coffolate.you will enjoy if you do not expect 4 star.

“Great holiday - very happy we chose Aloe Club!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2010

We just got back yesterday and had a brilliant week!
The staff were great - very smiley& helpful and the lady serving pancakes in the morning always had a big grin on her face 'Bon Appetito!!'
The food choice was super: fruit, pancakes, ham, fry-ups for breakfast, selection of salads, hot food and pizza in the evening plus loads more- would definately advise you pay a bit more to stay All Inclusive.
The hotel was very clean all the time and the maid came round 4 times.
As other reviews say, the hotel is a 20 minute walk to the main strip in town, but we enjoyed the exercise after all the yummy food. Also, if you look on the map you can cut through on Lanzerote Street to walk to town via the beaches. This also brings you out near Waikiki restaurant/bar which served lovely fresh food and nice cocktails.

The slight downsides are: the pools were freezing other than the kids pool!
The free coffee wasn't very nice. We were happy to pay for the proper stuff from the pool bar - however, they seemed to have a strange zero tolerance policy - it could only be served at breakfast and even then the guy didn't seem too pleased to make it!
Our apartment was ok but we had a completely empty second room and although we looked out at the pool we had no balcony. Minor issue but water came under the door in the storm too! All in all not major problems at all so don't let this put you off.

We hired a car from Rent a Car which was probably the cheapest (30 euros a day for a Micra) but it was falling apart- maybe pay more elsewhere?
Surf hire would probably be cheaper in Correlejo than El Cotillo too. Oh and eventually we found out that the town is pronounced 'Corr-ell-ekko'

We looked at a lot of reviews before settling on this hotel and we made the right choice-I would definately recommend staying here!

“Great Value For Money!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2010

We stayed at Aloe Club for the third week in Jan. we found the hotel to be great value for price we paid. We only paid £330 each for a weeks A.I incuding the flghts liverpool. we,ve certainly been in better places (and paid alot more) but we've been to alot worse as well. The place is very clean and the staff are wonderful. It's right on the edge of the resort and and a 20 min a walk in to town . .but only about E3.50 in a taxi. The food was very good and always well presented. . .and plenty to go round. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Plenty of sunbeds to go round and we found the pool areas clean and spacious. Right. . here's the gripes. . the pool bar is staffed by one menber of staff who seems to spend most of the time relaying food orders to the kitchen. . then having to make the same journey again to pick the food up. Consequently waiting a cold drink can take anything up to 10 mins plus. The evening entertainment is quite poor for adults with no kids. We went out every evening. . .but most of the guests seemed to be families with kids. Most of the guests were Danish/Swedish/ with a smattering of British but everyone is made to feel welcome, we didn't have any problems with anyone. We were given an apartment with a kitchen but no kettle. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definately go back for this price for a january break. The weather was fantastic, high 70s all week. . a real tonic to escape our dreadful winter!!

“AVOID.....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2010

We stayed here over new year, and although we had a nice break with long walks along the beautiful beaches and eating out at some great restaurants La Playita is fabulous as is Waikiki.
The hotel was terrible. It should be no more that 2star.
Our room was 229 with a view of a wall, metal stairs, skips and general rubbish dump. It was digusting, unhygenic and smelly.
The Bathroom was moldy it was just horrid, We asked to change and eventually agreed to stay for one night and they would move us the next night.
The night was sleepless as 229 is directly above the restaurant kitchens and the staff seemed to have fun crashing plates and cutlery until the very early hours.
We were moved the next day to what seemed a nicer room with a pool view.
But when we returned after dinner the drains in our room smelt horrible, but the worse thing was my bed covers and matress smelt very strongly of Urine.....
My hubby and I shared a single bed that night.
We complained the next day and at first were just offered new sheets for me to change, I said it was the matress that was the problem. We were promised they would sort it that evening when maintenance was in. It didn't happen and after complaining and complaining a new matress arrived 3 days later.
The man on reception during the evenings and night is rude and doesnt seem bothered.
The pool area is quite nice as is the location and I am sure some of the rooms are fine.
But I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It needs alot of money spending on it. The bathrooms well and truly need upgrading.
