“nightmare”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2009

my three friends and my self are just back from this holidays arrived on saturday 10th of october, we had booked two twin rooms. my friend and i stayed in 1001, which was discusting, our room appeared to not have been cleaned out? the cultery drawer was the pitts, idont know what it was, covered in wee black dots. the fridge was not working at all, and the tiled floor was all wet, where there appeared to be a leak from the fridge. there were stains on the pillows and ciggarette burns on the bed clothes. we went and spoke to staff and told them we refused to stay in the room, and we were told the manager was not available to monday, we had no choice but to stay. on monday they shifted us till room 1002 , which was,nt much better. needs alot of work . never mind the room at night was full of mosquites, and we were very badly bitten, worst appartments ever..

“Love Corralejo, Not the apartments!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2009

Ok, so after reading all the reviews i was setting myself for being disappointed. We arrived to our room around 10pm. To find that all the shops were closed so we couldn't buy water or something to eat. We had been travelling all day and couldn't even have a cup of tea! They really should have something for guests when they arrive on a late flight.
Bit disappointed with the size of the rooms and beds. Great if theres only 2 people staying but when theres 4 of you, its terrible. We had a travel cot which was basically brand new and very clean. But as for the thrid person they had to sleep on the slide out under the sofa. Now she decided to stay on the actual sofa as it was more comfortable. The room needs some decorating, fresh lick of paint and new paintings on the wall would make a huge difference. Oh, and theres a light in the kitchen/living room which has a wire, its like an eyesaw! The room was spotless. Very clean couldn't complain about that at all. We had no ants luckily! Biggest problem is, there is no air conditioning. In this day and age it should be expected! We paid for a fan but it didn't make much of a difference. The balconys are huge and it was lovely having lots of space to chill out and place all our clothing out to dry.
We had to pay for a safe which cost 34 euro for 2 weeks and we then get back 12 euro. Entertainment isn't the best but there was a guy there called louie and he was great with the kids, really made the effort for guests to have fun. Adults too! We played waterpolo for a few days and it was really good. Eating out was excellent! So so cheap. I was paying 6 euros for all you can eat breakfast and 10 euros for all you can eat for dinner. Its on a corner with lots of lights sorry i can't remember the name. Just look out for fairy lights! I recommend taking your own food for the plane journey. We flew with monarch and had to pay 7 euros for plane food! I loved Corralejo. The beaches are just beautiful. Pay 1.20 for a bus on a 5 minute journey and you'll find white sands and clear waters. They have a bar there so you can eat and drink. Its based at the Riu hotel. I would come back to the resort, just not to the apartments. Saying that i really did have a fantastic holiday.

“Don't bother with this aparthotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2009

We stayed at the hotel in October 2009. The weather was very good, no rain, a gentle breeze blowing most of the time.

We booked the holiday there because we had stayed at the complex eight years previously and enjoyed our stay, but that was on self catering only.

But oh we're we so dissappointed with all of the hotel.

Yes they had revamped the hotel, seeing as it had been closed for two years ... so we we're informed ... but all that had been altered was the reception area and a different entrance which now consists of an Italian Restaurant and some shops totally unconnected with the aparthotel.

The rooms ........ these we're okay, but a new sink in a twenty year old bathroom is not what we call modernisation. The bathroom smelt of urine all the time, the large mirror was never cleaned during the 11 nights we spent there. On the whole the bathroom needed completely ripping out and replacing.

The front door was in need of restoration as it was down to the bare wood.

The bedroom was a good size but .......... one night my wife was counting the number of holes in the sheets and the bed cover.

The lounge was a good size. The TV worked but you had to pay to see any channels.

The kitchen sadly needed replacing and was so out of date. Rusty and warped drawers.

The patio was a good size but the furniture was sadly in need of replacement.

The view from our room (number 2300) was fantastic, if you like the local trees that blocked everything out.

The pools we're sadly in need of replacing because the children had invented a variant on the diving for shells .......... they dived to retrive the loose tiles from the bottom of the pools, leaving "gaping" holes at the bottom.

The sunloungers were dirty and most we're broken, the smaller pool had better quality sunloungers but we're never cleaned.

The pools themselves we're cleaned once during our 11 night stay.

But if you need a job apply for the post of "lifeguard" Why ? because he keeps a private stock of holidaymakers books all for himself. Books that should be available to the people on holiday, but he keeps them locked away all for himself. I counted well over one hundred, while in the bar area us holiday people had the choice of about twenty books.

The bar area ........... with two large screen TV's ......... the staff keep the remotes away from the holiday makers just in case they change channels to some English speaking channel, so most of the time you need to either speak or understand Spanish.

Saving the best to last .............. we christened it " the cafeteerrrriaaaaaaaaa" ......... because thats the best description !!

Check in any information brouchure and its hardly mentioned ......... why ? ......... because it's underground !!!! yes underground. No windows, the AC is only put on when they get complaints from overheated holidaymakers, the food was luke warm and greasy. Chips EVERY night. the bread rolls we're hard. we had one good night when they put on canarian potatoes, and tuna.

All the staff in the cafffeettteerrriiiiaaaaaaaaa were miserable.

I just hope people read our report before booking, because if we had read this we would definately not have booked to go there.

We we're counting the number of sleeps before we came home.

Hope this information helps anyone contemplating a holiday there.

“Corralejo lovely, Lobos Bahia disappointing!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2009

We had stayed in Lobos Bahia around 6/7 years before and when returning to Fuerevetura thought we would go back, this was a mistake!
Our first room was in D block on the first floor, nice and clean and tidy. Unfortunatly on our second night while we were out at dinner our room was broken into, the insecure lock on the patio door was forced, both of our mobile phones were stolen from our room (the whole block was targeted). We informed reception and they moved us straight away. On meeting with the manager the next day she told us we needed to make a statement to the police, which was fine but had to walk following a map she had drawn (the offer of a taxi would have been nice), we were at the police station for the whole morning waiting for a interpretator.
Our next room was on the ground flour over looking the pool unfortunatley this room smelt badly of sewage. We were moved again this time to an upstairs room in the same block which was much better. A few nights after being put in this room a drunk driver crashed into the wall outside (which I know is not the hotels fault), it would have been nice if a member of staff had called the next day to appologise for the incident.
The reception had been updated since our last visit and was looking much better unfortuatley the rest of the apartments were in need of a huge facelift especially the tiles in the pool, big patches had lifted up! The pool was very salty and most people in our group could not swim in it as it made their eyes very sore, the local beach had much less salt!
There was not much entertainment in the hotel and the big bar they had was permanatley shut, there didn't seem to be much for the kids to do during the day either unlike last time we had been.
We booked through Thomas Cook and unfortunatley would not do this again either as the rep was very hard to get hold of, it took us a week to inform her of the break in and was VERY unhelpful and unsympathetic! Many people complained they could not get hold of her at the times stated on the board.

“great location shame about the standards”

Don't stay here on an all inclusive as you'll be very disappointed. Great location but very tired and run down, Needs lots of tlc everywhere. Loooking around it must have been quite spectular in the beginning but not now.
Lots of peeling paintwork cracked/ broken/missing tiles everywhere from pool to the stairs
Check out the photos
Not enough to keep a 13 and 11 yr old occupied, not helped by the fact that the entertainer walked out as the management refused to give him the equipment he kept requesting. The animation team tried there best but not good
