I stayed at the Sol Lunamar for 1 week in Aug 2011 with my boyfriend & we really enjoyed it.
Brilliant location...everything is on your doorstep..the beach, resturants, bars, shops etc...
Rooms are clean & big enough for 2 people, good working facilities (kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, cooker & TV) the beds was comfy enough to cope with for a week (they're set out like sofa beds, so we just put them together to make a double bed) massive wardrobe with loads of space, small dining table & 2 chairs, nice big bathroom (shower was really good & powerful) big enough balcony with a table & 2 chairs & a mini washing line. The rooms are basic & abit dated but who cares it's a 3 star hotel not a 5 star :-)
The Hotel itself is really nicely decorated, very clean throughout inside & out. Our room was cleaned 3 times in 7 days (towels & bedding changed, bins emptied, given more toilet rolls, bathroom cleaned etc)...very quiet at night, so no problem getting your sleep, nice enough friendly staff.
Pool area is really nice & clean, big pool & seperate kids pool & sun terrace, plenty of decent sunbeds, fair amount of umberella's, really big outdoor seating area with loads of tables & chairs, nice pool bar serving good choice of drinks (alcoholic & soft) hot & cold food (sandwiches, burgers, chips etc) & snacks (icecreams & crisp) abit pricey though! Pool area is surrounded by lovely palm trees & pretty flowers, there's a poolside shower, there's a back gate from the pool area that you only have access to by using your room card, which leads you directly to the gorgeous beach, all the resturants, bars & shops.
The hotel also has an indoor bar, indoor eating & seating area, indoor toilets, big TV screens, a good games rooms with a pool table, computers with internet access & arcade game machines...there's a big bathroom with shower, next to reception that you can use if your on a late flight home.
The only entertainment they have is a BBQ night on a weds & sat night.
The people staying at the hotel when i was there, was mainly couples of all ages, small families & a few harmless groups.
Air Con is a 15 euros refundable deposit for the remote control and ours worked really good, so it's worth getting.
Safe is a 15 euros refundable desposit for the key.
Only downfall for me was we didn't have the pool view i requested 4 months in advance when i booked the room, instead we was facing the carpark.
Palma Nova itself is a really nice, pretty, clean, well looked after, very friendly resort that mainly suits chilled out couples & small families of all ages, the beach is gorgeous & really clean & well looked after, also very child friendly. There's plenty of nice resturants, bars, shops etc..Kids parks/play areas, lots of taxi ranks, chemist..everything you want & need really.
I would defo return to Palma Nova in the future & i'd probably stay at the Sol Lunamar again aswell, aslong as i had a pool view :-)
Great holiday..loved it!!!!! :-)
Ask for a room on floor 3 or 4 with a pool view, defo the best rooms when it comes to having a good...
