We spent 1 week here in the fall of 2011.We were a group of 10 people travelling together. The first nights dinner was very good. We arrived to find 2 bottles of homemade wine open on our table and assumed that since we had not requested the wine that it was included. After dinner and dessert we were presented, with much flourish, a tray of lemon shooters. Again, not requested and no mention of cost. We were told to "help ourselves" to what we wanted in the cooler outside of the dining room. There was not a price list in the dining room or by this cooler.
The first 2 evenings the wine was pretty good for homemade wine, however by the 3rd night we noticed it was a bit vinegary. The 4th night it was so bad we mentioned it to Vincenzo and he brought us out 2 different bottles. They were not much better and we did not consume all of this wine. The next 3 nights were so awful I bought my own bottle of wine to have with dinner and each evening we did not finish the wine that was opened for us on our table.
As mentioned the dinner was great the first night but becomes very repetitive over the course of the week. The anti-pasta plate was basically the same each night with the same dessert of fruit served all but for 1 dinner. We were even given the same main course 2 times in one week of their home-made sausage.Perhaps this is what happens when you are given your free dinner for booking 1 whole week. They also served Calamari for the main course one night without checking to see if everyone ate this unusual main course. When 4 people out of our group of 10 told Vincenzo they did not eat Calamari he brought out 2 port chops and 1 steak and announced that this was all they had . One of our group did not receive a main course for dinner that night with no apology or rebate on their bill. At the end of the week we were all presented with our unitemized bill which was exactly the same for all 5 couples even though we all drank different amounts at dinner and from the" help yourself cooler". When we asked about this we were told that it was not possible to keep track of everyone individually and so we were all charged the same for the unrequested wine and shooters and drinks from the cooler . This was a considerable charge which was tacked onto our bill .
Also worth mentioning are the walls are very thin and if you get someone noisy or with a crying baby next to you you hear everything! Also as this is a family run business they should learn to not fight with each other in front of the guests.
