“Amazing Holiday!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2010

I enjoyed staying at this holiday! I went with a group of family, including two adults, 4 teenagers-one of whom was disabled.

The hotel was very nice, and spacious and very friendly. It did take a long time for check in and our bags to be taken to our room but this wasn't a big issue.

The rooms were quite spacious-perhaps on the little side, our room had a small balcony that's views were not so great, and were off another hotel, and below was the hotel driver were the workers often walked around.

The swimming pool area/sunbathing area was a real plus! The pools were very big and were nice to swim in, with plenty of water sports on different days-such as aerobics and water polo, the pool also had an inflatable adventure course for the teens/kids! This was not every day, so it was great that it varied. There was a poolside snackbar and a lovely poolside resturant. The pool area also hosted afternoon games, for all ages. These could be things like boules, bowling, etc. This was a really good element to the hotel as you couldn't really complain there was nothing on.

The hotel had an outside football area with nets, it was quite rundown but very lively, and we watched a few holidayers play a fun football game!

On the bottom floor with the pool area, was a downstairs leisure room with chairs, pool tables etc. This was a plus for the teenagers.

At night there was plenty of nightlife on, with a schedule for different events that happened on different days. There was quiz's, performances with animals, great bands and the atmosphere was lovely. This was a real thumbs up for the hotel.

The hotel had a computer area in the lobby, this was not free but quite cheap for an hour or so of computer time.

The buffet resturant was an amazing feature for this holiday and particularly my favourite. We stayed half board, and in a morning and evening the food choice was unbelivable. The area itself was huge with plenty of tables and serving areas.
Each section had different cuisines and options to suit every person. In a morning, you could either help yourself to a vast choice food, or the cooks could whip you up an omelette/pancakes any type of egg or food you wanted infront of you.
In an evening there was also a massive choice of food aswell!
We stayed for two weeks, and this did get a little boring however as the food each day/night was slightly the same. But apart from that it was good!

The hotel also boasted a basement nightclub, which was free to the guests. We went there two nights, and enjoyed the atmosphere of dancing and drinking.
The music was mostly spanish but it was a nice vibe.

The only downside to this hotel was it had a slight problem (only slight) with cock-roaches, the area also was infested with cockroaches but I guess this couldnt be helped.

I would also reccomend the lovely english bars outside the hotel and around the hotel area, which offerred cheap meals and atmosphere, and karoke in the evening!

The area the hotel was in, itself was a little way out from the beach, the shops and the 'sunset strip' nightlife. The paths were quite hilly and uneven, and with a wheelchair it was difficult.
In an evening, going out into Playa de las americas, was good but very annoying in the fact that you were accosted left right and centre by people trying to get you to eat in their resturant, or buy toys from a stall etc. In the daytime also you had many african carribean women accosting you for your hair to be braided, or men who wanted to sell you cheap tacky jewellery.

The beach was about 20/30 mins from the hotel, but was a lovely beach with water sports etc.

“Nice hotel for xmas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2010

We stayed at Noelia sur for xmas week. We arrived at hotel at 3.45 in the morning after a 15 hour delay due to snow in England. As you can imagine we were very tired the receptionist was very quick to hand us our room keys and informed us that we could get some water and food down in the resturant which we declined
After a few hours sleep we had breakfast the staff were very polite and friendly.
The food was ok but we have stayed in 3* with just as good food
You are given a set table which you keep for all of the holiday for your evening meal.
The hotel is very nice. We didn't use the pool so we can't coment on that.
We were lucky that the weather was very warm especially at night which is unusual
as you usually need a cardi or a coat for night time
There was entertainment at the hotel but it was a struggle to get a seat.
Do go up on to the roof to look at the views you can see for miles around
The only down fall sometimes was that there was a smell of sewerage on the corridor i don't know whether its common thing that happens or just somthing that happened while we were there. \this definately a hotel that we would go back to
As i said at the begining we were delayed it was Viking airways that we used and because it was the snow that caused the delay they said they didn;t have any responsibility to us so we got no vouchers or anything to help make our delay a bit better. Yet other airlines were helping people out !

“Mould smell, cockroaches and noisy neighbours”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2009

Me, my wife and 1½ year old daughter went to Dream Place Noelia Sur this September (2009) - unfortunately. I was attending a conference in the North (Puerto de las Cruz) whereafter friends suggested to visit the South of Tenerife due to the high number of sun hours.
We booked the hotel well in advance, a suite, since my daughter requires a baby cot and we have a relatively large pram. When we arrived we got a room on the second floor overlooking the pool. The size of the room was ok - BUT, the balcony door was not possible to shut, the bathroom does not have any ventilation (and the windows are not possible to open) - this resulted in a very mulded smell in the entire room. Furthermore, since the balcony door could not shut, the live entertainment at the pool was so noisy that we couldn't get our daughter to sleep before 11PM when the music (which by the way was extremely poor) stopped.
The following day I asked at the reception whether we could change room, unfortunately, we could only get a room to the neighbouring hotel (which is for youngsters) - so here they played music and yelled all night long - but okay, I asked for it. BUT, again the moulded smell continued, the doors were again not able to shut and the air-condition sounded like a boeing 747 about to take off. During our stay, 3 workers repaired the door, which ment that it broke even more.
The pool area was extremely cramped (and we were out of season, so I can imagine the stumble in high season) - where people lined up to place their towels on the sunbeds!?!?!? The childrens pool was greasy (and not cleaned during our weekly stay) and extremely tiny. There is a very long walk to the beach - do not trust the length from the website it takes at least 15 minutes to reach the actual beach (where you can get to the sea).
Finally, we ordered half-board - which basically was okay. There was a lot to choose from, however, the restaurant was in a very bad state. The second evening we saw a dead cockroach on the floor - which the following morning was eaten by flies. The evening the cockroach was still in the same spot with more flies. You can ask yourself, in what state is the food? We at least never ate at the restaurant again!
So for your own sake, please do not book this hotel - Playa de las Americas has so many hotels to choose from. For families with children I would strongly recommend to stay in Los Christianos instead.

“Excellent holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2009

Having been to this resort many times and stayed at numerous hotels, mostly the Julio Cesar at the Mare Nostrum, myself and partner had no complaints,
We got a pool view room (at no extra cost) which was large and clean and had opted for a bed and breakfast option as we like to eat out in the evening and eat when and where we choose.
There was plenty of choice at breakfast, all the staff we encountered were courteous and efficient and it was very clean.
We opted to go to the adult area pools on the roof and it was very quiet with lovely views.
Yes the mare nostrum is more luxurious but the price is far higher.
We have an excellent holday and will return here next April - I honestly think some people just like to moan about any little thing and end up ruining their holiday themselves whining about silly little things. Get there, unpack, and ENJOY :-))
