“Good value if booked at the right price.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2009

We stayed in October. As we are family of 6 getting a decent deal is important therefore when were offered a competitive rate through Travel Republic we decided to give it a go. The Hotel overall needs a little bit of attention but the rooms were big enough and cleaned every day. The food is ok and they have plenty choice at breakfast, the evening meals could be excellent some nights and not so good the next, but overall food ok to good if you are not too fussy. The swimming pool is very deep so not ideal for younger children, however we had no problems getting enough sunbeds around the pool.

We have stayed in better 4 star hotels in Tenerife but paid around 30 -40 % more so you pay for what you get, but we would stay again if the price was competitive. If price is no object I would consider staying in the Hotel Bitacora which is excellent. But at the right price Noelia Sur is excellent value.

“How a once nice hotel goes down to unprofessional practicing”

During our stay at your hotel, Noelia Sur, we were contacted by a woman to come down to reception and listen to a special offer.

The special offer was made by some Italian man who spoke poorly English. He offered us 2 weeks in your 5 star hotels for 4 people at half board, flights included.

Who only have to pay 1450 Euros. This is really cheap, so we wanted to see this 5 star hotel first.
He took us to this Tacanda hotel, which was beautiful.
Here he came with the paperwork which came from some Italian woman who was in the office. Strange enough the paperwork was in the name of a travel agency, (named: viajes Cordal) here it is we walked away.

The price sounded too good to be true.
The Italian woman looked very nervous and did not want to answer our concerns. She said that the travel agency is the sole reseller for Dreamplace Hotels and they are working on behalf of the owners, a rich Spanish family. She took the paperwork back out of my hand and walked off.
We left the hotel and spoke to some other guest in Noelia Sur. Many of them were contacted and were very concerned about the way of fraudulent dealing. We visited this hotel many times, but our concerns about this kind of pricing and sales staff makes us wonder if there are things going on for tax reasons.

The next day I spoke to a Spanish guest, who spoke perfectly English, at the pool.
He told me that the same happened to them and that the representative of your hotel told him that he was working on commission only and hoped that people buy so he can get paid 75 Euro commission.
He said that there is no tax on this because Dreamplace has no contract with this staff and it is all paid in black money and in cash.
The Spanish guest told us that the sales man looked very desperate because he needed to pay his rent.

When we came home I phoned the hotel and they told me that they did not know this travel agency at all.
So why do this people tell us they work for the owner, we have to buy 2 weeks for two years, flights included, we have to pay directly by credit card and the name Dreamplace is not on the contract.

“Not what I expect from a 4 star hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2009

Arrived at Noelia Sur at 7.20 pm Saturday 3 Oct after leaving home around 11.00 am. Receptionist took our name told us what room we were allocated but did not give us the opportunity of going to room to freshen up instead we were told that we had to go dinner as we were allocated the 6.30 pm sitting. Sorry but I don't expect to be treated this way in a 4-star hotel. After a very rushed meal we went back to reception to get key and were told we would have to give our credit card details or pay 100 euros to pay for "extras" we may incur eg safety box, fridge, pool towels, etc. I have been in other 4 star hotels and have never been asked to pay for a fridge! safety deposit box yes, which we expect. We pay as we go, we do not believe in running up tabs but I suppose the thinking is that they will make more money if they do it their way, anyway we refused and because of the way we were treated we spent very little money at the hotel. The hotel is very clean but the rooms and corridors could only be described as "tired" and could do with a bit of modernisation. On the plus side the staff in the dining room were very friendly and helpful and we could not complain about the variety of food on offer. The pool area also was kept very clean so no complaints there.

Would we go back to this hotel - definitely not, think they need to invest a bit of money in upgrading and staff training especially reception staff. Sorry if you are heading to Noelia Sur but this is how things turned out for us.

“Was OK but.....”

This was our first time in this hotel, and found if you were arriving at lunch time you will wait for your room to be ready. We waited an hour without being told that was what the delay was checking in. We were not the only who had a wait as when you passed through reception there were always poeple and their luggage sitting around. The hotel mainly is nice although we found the corridors in need of a lick of paint. Staff were friendly and the dining room for dinner is split into 2 sitting 6.30pm and 8.30pm, I think the latter sitting was a bit late for us but some guests preffered it, although you you dont get the choice as you told what sitting you will be at when you check in. The table you get is the table you sit at for the whole of your holiday (note: Evening Dinner only) other meals you can sit where you can get a seat. Food can only be described as fantastic and if you cant find anything to eat then you are fussy! veggies included! Entertainment is the usual spanish mix of singers, dancers and the like. Our room was at the side of the hotel overlooking the pool of another block of self catering apartments which on occasion was a bit noisy. The beach (black rocky sand) is approx 10mins stroll away. If you want a beach with plenty of new sand it will take about 20mins to get there. The overall impression of this hotel was Ok but not OK enough for me to return.

“this hotel is def not a 4 star”

I stayed here with my 4 year old son and husband for 1 week. We normally go 4 star wherever we go and this is def not a 4 star. The staff are rude and if you need to ask a question at the reception if spanish tourists are present you are left standing. The food is terrible one thing I can say if you like fish your ok as everything contains fish even the vegetable salad and lasagne. There was no food for my son and to be honest we ate most nights. I often began to wonder if most other residents had eaten before there holiday as they couldn't fill there plates anymore. The pool area was so busy you couldn't get a lounger never mind have a swim as it was full of spanish who in my opinio n are so rude and they have brought their children up to be the same. The rooms especially the bathroom needs serious upgrading the shower well lets say the toilet water runs faster and more powerful it was hanging of the wall. The corridors need serious attention so do the 2 lifts one was constanly sticking and the alarm ringing.I will def not be back to this hotel or tenerife nice place lovely weather and great trips to siam park and jungle park but the people at this hotel and the airport have really put me off reccomending this hotel so I would stay somewhere else.
