stayed here 3rd feb to 7th feb for my partners birthday we had a room across in the hotels other block on the 3rd floor next to the lift i was dreading it with reading the reviews about the noise but i only heard 1 argument all of my stay so was'nt as bad as i thought
we did'nt eat breakfast at all as it looked horrid the scrambled eggs were green we did eat 2 lunches and 1 dinner which was'nt bad i dont think i would have managed the food any longer than a week but thats just me a holiday is what you make it
the room was good and maid service everyday we were there i paid for champagne and birthday cake for my partners birthday it got delivered to the room we never had time to have a bit of the cake the time it got then decide to go out but the next morning when we got up the birthday cake was like a pancake lol but again that was prob our fault for leaving it the hotel is in a good location
i dont think i could take my kids to this hotel its more just for couples and i dont think it would be any good to stay longer than a week but as a say a holiday is what you make it ...enjoy :)

So noisy now home to get sleep, prostitutes line the hill to the hotel so take care. I found Lorenzo the receptionist very helpful and the hotel was very clean.

Having travelled to many countries & stayed at many good & not so good hotels, I unfortunately found myself in Tenerife at The Columbus Aparthotel. My husband & I were rather dubious about this hotel after reading trip advisor but as friends had booked this holiday we had little choice.
Upon arrival at the Columbus it looked promising as reception was very modern, sadly this is where the positve ends!. It took a good 40 minutes to check in & when we did the lady on reception was uncommunacative (in the wrong job obviously!).
We used the lift to the 1st floor where you step back in time to a cold, dark & dreary open plan corridor, exotic compared to our 1 bed self catering apt however as nothing can prepare you for what you are about to see! The uninviting cold, dark grim feeling hits you as you open the door as these rooms facing north dont see any sunshine or at least we never got any. A decent size apartment but obviously not been renovated or decorated in at least 30 years, as the tired tatty furniture & the grubby walls say it all! Nasty little single beds with rocks as pillows fill the bedroom again adorned by grubby walls.
We instantly asked to be moved but the classic "We are full" line was grunted to us by the delightful receptionist!
So as we were only there a week ( thank god) we had to make do! This issue however was just the start!! The clientele at this hotel is one of disbelief, a wide range of ages from young families, retired couples looking for a relaxing holiday to foul mouthed lowlife whose whole purpose of a holiday is just getting hammered day & night.The latter take up 90% of the hotel & dont you just know it where they are rolling in at 3, 4, 5 ,6am screaming, swearing, banging doors & scraping furniture for hours on end.
Sorry to have waffled on but this is a seriously BAD hotel unless you have no standards whatsoever & dont mind any of the above, how anyone can say anything positive about this hell hole is amazing to me!!

Have just returned after staying for one week self catering. The hotel was spotless clean, staff were friendly and the location of the hotel was excellent. We had an excellent holiday, but the day before coming home there seemed to be a few drunkards around, and not young teenagers, these were men in their late 40s at least. one group were fighting and almost came in through the room door, there was fighting in the reception area at 0230, police had to be called. For this reason I would not stay in this hotel, my children would have been terrified, its just a shame some people don't know how to behave.
