Maurice, the innkeeper, is a cheery, local man who knows how to make his guests welcome. His wife Aisling helps when she can. On arrival you will be served tea and scones and then will be shown to your comfortable, tastefully decorated modern room, larger than most in our experience. The family rooms are spacious with room for your luggage, and big enough to actually move around. Our teenage daughter had a lovely room of her own with two sets of windows-one overlooking the bay and the other into town. Some rooms look over the Errisbeg mountain but the view isn't as nice. Maurice serves a wonderful Irish breakfast with excellent sausages, bacon, egg, tomato, and white and black pudding if you want it. There are other choices as well. Island View Bed and Breakfast is quiet, even if you have the ocean view which faces the street, and the beds are comfortable. The shower works well with lots of hot water, and Maurice makes sure there are plenty of washclothes and towels. Roundstone is a little town that is very quiet late at night. It has a beautiful harbor, good places to eat, isn't a tourist trap, and has lots of interesting places to visit nearby which Maurice is knowledgeable about. There are gorgeous beaches within a mile of town. Maurice's Island View Bed and Breakfast in Roundstone is an idyllic spot to enjoy Ireland away from the hubbub of the big tourist towns.
