“A WONDERFUL PLACE”

We stayed in May (apologies for the tradiness) and it was amazing! A walk on the grounds is a must as the scenery in so peaceful & picture perfect. The rooms are very nice - obtain a river view if possible. A night-cap in the bar was a great ending with friendly service. The fire smelled so good I asked the bartender where they got the wood wood from - with a puzzled look, he pointed behind me and answered "well, from the box of wood inthe corner" - Perfect!!

Dear Pazoo,
Thank you for the feedback. Delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay so much and the grounds. The boys outside work hard at keeping it right. Even cutting up storm damage trees to fill that big box in the bar!! Best wishes, Patrick

“Perfect Place”

We stayed in May for 3days for our wedding anniversary. I have to say there is not enough positive words in the dictionary to describe how please we were and how great an experience we had. The setting is amazing. Our room was in the old part of the castle with windows over looking the river, the first morning I pulled back the curtains to see an otter playing in the river, we were thrilled. The breakfast that was offered to us each morning was nothing less than fit for a king. The selection with regards the cooked breakfast and buffet selection was unbeleivable. Even the natrual yoghurt was out of this world. Just when the thought it couldn't get any better it did. The evening meal was nothing less that a gatronomically delight each evening, I personally would have been happy with the home made bread basket all to myself. I did not realise that it was posible to get food to taste or look that good. Some sections of the menu changed each night which was good.

The walking and views around the estate and surrounding area were excellent, with walks for every level of walker. The staff in the hotel did their upmost to ensure that your stay was truely magical. Sitting beside the open fires at night after dinner was just an added bonus.

We have since been to other four star hotels but none of them have been able to compare to Ballynahinch Castle. Cant wait to get back.

“Comfort and beauty at an old-world castle hotel.”

I wished I could have stayed a few more nights!

The Ballynahinch Castle Hotel is a wonderful place to stay when you want comfort while feeling as though you've traveled back in time. The room I had was small compared to a regular luxury hotel, but that was part of the charm. The view was fantastic! The room had all the amenities I needed, as well as a cushioned window seat - nice touch!

The quiet hotel grounds provide many beautiful paths to explore along a wide rushing stream, a quiet stream, a big lake, and through the woods. I always made sure to spend time enjoying the grounds before and after each day of exploring the local areas.

The food was very good! I especially enjoyed the fresh caught fish of the day, and a dessert that was the most artful and most delicious I've ever had in my life!!! Sometimes I wish I had photographed it! Breakfast in the gorgeous dining room, sitting at one of the many giant windows looking out on the beautiful grounds and stream was a wonderful and pleasurable experience. I took my time enjoying every bite of breakfast, and every sip of tea. A great way to start the day!

The staff was polite, respectful and ready to help.

The Ballynahinch is in a great location to stay at for touring the areas from the Doo Lough Valley to Clifden, through Roundstone and farther south.

I will definitely stay there again!
