“HOME COMFORTS ALL THE WAY”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

My wife and i have been staying in Donegal hotels for the past 25 years, Our first time spenting a few nights at the villa rose in Ballybofey. We were very impressed, decent size bedrooms, exceptionally clean,The entire staff from reception, dining room, bar and breakfast looked after us and nothing was to much bother. They all had a smile which is hard to find in some hotels today. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and tasted good, not self service and cooked for hours.Overall we were very impressed and was as good as some 5* hotels we haved stayed in.Well done10/10 and we will be back. “Simply Fabulous !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

My Husband, 6 year old son and I spent 2 Nights at the Villa Rose Hotel Recently, From the Second we arrived in the Hotels Stunning Foyer we were made feel at ease by the Staff at recieption who checked us in and made us feel at home before we even made it to our room. The room was beautiful with a luxurious double bed , and a just as luxurious single bed , spotless bathroom , and plenty of space , It's clear alot of attention to detail has been put into the bedrooms . After we got settled we decided to take a walk around the the town of ballybofey , which judging by our walk is the perfect setting for this hotel, with friendly locals and plenty of shops and Cafe's. That evening we had reservtions for dinner in the Hotels Resteraunt , Again friendly staff who showed us to our table. The meal was exceptional (Compliments to the Chef) , and everything was served effiecently , nothing was too much trouble for the staff. After our meal the 3 of us retreated to our room to watch some TV and go to sleep. Next Morning We Went down for breakfast, We were shown to our table again & Every thing was self service which was great as it meant you get get your breakfast to suit you with hot foods being kept warm and being renewed frequently and plenty of cereals , breads & Juice to fill us up for the day. as always staff were friendly & efficient and did everything they could to put you at ease , even if they were already rushed off their feet! We asked a member of staff if their was anything for children in the town, and there were a number of activities - we chose to go to "Craic@Jacks" an indoor adventure centre which was about a 2-3 minute drive outside the town and it catered for all our needs , with ball pools slides and climbing frames , pool tables , An air hockey table a Bear making area , and a coffee dock for us to sit and watch, with TV's aswell ! There was also free parking right outside ! I Managed to get some shopping in after the adventure centre, and there was something for everyone in Mcelhinneys department store! We had booked another meal in the resteraunt for that evening and just as before everything was exceptional and first class from the meal, the staff down to the general ambiance of the place. I cant say enough good things about this resteraunt. We returned to our room again and conked out as soon as our heads hit the pillows. Next Morning we went for breakfast and were greeted with the usual smiles and friendly disposition of the staff. We were shown to a lovely table by the window and helped ourselves to a good breakfast. We Returned to our room and packed up our things for a reluctant chect-out of this wonderful hotel, Back down to the Beautiful foyer , and checked out with the same friendly staff ! The Villa Rose was just what we needed , a stress-free break with plenty of fun !! At the Villa rose its First class service with a smile ! I Would not hesitate in booking another break here , whether you're travelling with family , friends , partners or just by yourself the villa rose ticks all the boxes , My only regret is not taking a trip to the Hotels "V-spa" , But no doubt I'll be there again and its first on my list !!

“Villa Rose is out of this world!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 June 2010

We stayed at Villa Rose for a long weekend and upon arrival until we departed we have to say that the service we received was 100%, everything about the Hotel and V Spa was fantastic, staff are so helpful and they really are sincere. Our room was so clean and very spacious, we can honestly say that we could not find one fault. The breakfast and evening meals were superb and a great variety.

Even location wise the eating places and shops are great.

We will be going back soon and would recomend Villa Rose to eveyone, the V Spa is a whole experience and very, very relaxing.

Can't really say what the best bit was about our stay as from start to finish it was all amazing.

“Dusty Rooms - breakfast was a joke!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2010

The front of the hotel is deceiving, but when you walk over the walk way into the new part of the hotel, the lobby is stunning!
We were able to check in early and head up to our room. First impression was nice wooden floor; however the room was a little dusty and grubby and did not have a welcoming, relaxing feel which would have been nice after a long drive. There was an abrupt sign in the room from management that stated if they caught you/or you left evidence that there had either been food eating or drinking in the room that was not purchased in the hotel there would be an immediate fine on your credit card – back to the car then with the bottle of juice and crisps!!
Entertainment was excellent in the bar that evening with tradition Irish music and there was a great atmosphere although the drink was quite expensive, it’s not called rip off Ireland for nothing!
Breakfast the next morning was fine for us but a few minutes after we got our breakfast, they ran out of orange juice, bread, bacon, eggs, cornflakes – it was fun to sit and watch but not for the people who had to wait up to 20 minutes for the food items to be replenished.

Check out was fine and the night porter had left out information for us to visit some waterfalls in the local area. Nice hotel but I don’t think I would stay aging.
