What can I say about the Wentworth Mansion....the place is beautiful and the staff is great! It made our stay in Charleston magical! My husband and I will most definitely be coming back to Charleston and staying at the Wentworth Mansion.

This is our favorite place in Charleston. Especially room 10. You are treated like "friendly" royalty from the minute you walk in the door until you leave. The mansion itself is beautiful, the rooms are of the period, lovely happy happy hour with wine and at least 3 lovely trays of snacks and a full, delicious breakfast is included. It is close enough to walk to most things and just a short cab ride to others. Already thinking about my next visit........

Room tip: They have beautiful single rooms either looking over the street or the garden ( we prefer the garden) and 2 magnificent suites for those special occasions.

So traveling with 3 kids is not romantic and doesn't usually allow for a lot of personal space.
I wanted a place within walking distance of the market area and coast. Most hotels in this area could not accommodate 5 guests in one room, it was Wentworth or one other until the kids saw the pictures and said they were staying at the "big house"!
I believe Wentworth Mansion could have accommodated any request we had. We stayed in the Grand Mansion Suite, beautiful room, comfortable furnishings, great ambiance and WONDERFUL staff! I felt so sorry for the front desk help as they stood every time our door was opened. With 5 of us, that door was opened often.
The wait staff at Circa 1886 was equally accommodating. As 3 young children can be demanding and fickle, our server was pleasant and promptly delivered every request.
So fun for kids? They played tag in the courtyard, picked up seeds from the "unusual" plants, tried to pick flowers, computer time in the library, got to walk onto the roof of a house, walked up and down every step available, rode the elevator up and down, each sat in the whirlpool, wore the cushy robes while drinking their complimentary Sprite from wine glasses as they sat in front of the fireplace enjoying the classical music with the crystal chandeliers dimmed. What kid wouldn't love all that!?!
I will visit again, without the kids!

Great, grand place. Friendly, small scale elegant hotel but world class food. Definetly the hotel and resturaunt of choice in Charleston. We stayed one night, but wish we had a week. Quiet, but Central location, you can walk to all of historic Charleston.

Room tip: Suite nine was perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights during the first week of August... I still cannot stop thinking about our wonderful stay. We had Room #7, but I would have gladly enjoyed any room in the B&B. The staff was first-class, the grounds were heavenly, and the entire atmosphere was welcoming. The breakfast at the restaurant was delicious (several choices to choose from). The wine & appetizer time was generous as well as filling. We're in California, but the next time we're in Charleston, there is absolutely no question as to where we will stay. Please, treat yourself to a stay at the Wentworth - it's a time you'll never forget!
