“Great hotel close to Airport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 February 2009

We stayed here for our last night in Oregon. We wanted to be close to the airport. We did not need a shuttle to the airport, but they did give shuttles if you need one. I love the sleep number beds in the rooms. Our room was extremely large. We ate in the hotel for lunch. Pricey...we spent $32.00 on two Fish & Chip meals with coffee and soda.
It is a non-smoking hotel. You get charged a fee of $100 if you are caught smoking in the hotel or in your room.

Someone on our floor started smoking because the smell was so strong it was in our room. Then they tried to cover it up with some orange scented air freshener. Irritating !! This was the only problem we had with this hotel.

“Perfect for Park and Fly Package”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2009

We were going on an extended trip and thought a Park and Fly package would be the most economical way to go. We chose the Radisson since our friends have stayed there before and recommended the property to us.

The hotel is located at the end of a small road near the airport so there is not much traffic. It is appealing on the outside with a small lake and nice Northwest foliage.

The lobby is clean and comfortable and has a unique airplane hanging from the ceiling that gets you in the mood to travel. The staff was friendly and quick to help.

Our room was a nice size, as you walk in there was a large bathroom on the left, and straight ahead a large room with a "Sleep by Numbers" bed, with 2 end tables with lamps and clock, a good sized couch with a long table in front of it, a desk with all the computer stuff needed for a business traveler, an entertainment center with a large TV. We also had a nice view of the Lake.

After watching the commercials on TV about the Numbers Bed, I was looking forward to giving it a try. It was OK, I guess I was thinking it was going to be like that space foam that molds to your body.

They have a breakfast in the morning that is included in the price but we left so early we missed out on it. They did have a bag with a muffin and some fruit that we could take with us and you can grab a cup of coffee/tea/hot chocolate as you are on your way out.

We really enjoyed the hotel, it was comfortable and extremely clean for an airport hotel. We will would not think twice about staying again.

  • Liked — View of the lake
  • Disliked — The golf course near the parking lot that left a chip in window of my car

“Very basic, and not at all great.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2008

For a trip to San Diego, it was a good deal to stay at the Raddison and then park our car for the 10 days we would be gone. We got there late at night, and we were all dead tired, with a flight leaving at 6:00am the next day. You would think we would be able to go right to sleep and not have any complaints about the room . . . .

Unfortunately, the room was the utmost in "hotel basic", despite a price of $139. Fortunatelly, we got our parking for free, so it was probably a break even deal. We didn't have very high expectations, but the hotel still let us down.

We stayed on the "Charles Lindburgh" level, which is somehow supposed to be better, I think because it comes with some appetizers. It also had sleep number beds. The kids were initially excited about adjusting the beds, but soon found that they could not find a comfortable position. We tried too. We wen't from unbearably hard to uncomfortably soft. In the middle of the night, we discovered that our son's bed had deflated, so he was essentially sleeping in a hole.

The room was very average, with the most basic trim work and amenities. The lights in the room were harsh, and nothing was very inviting.

I must commend the staff however. At the front desk, they took our names when we came and scheduled us for a shuttle. The shuttle driver was very helpful, as was the driver upon our return. That was the highlight though.

The hotel is hard to find and for the money, I think you can do better.

  • Liked — Close to the airport, with parking included for the week we were gone.
  • Disliked — Uncomfortable beds and uninviting rooms.

“Not Terrible”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2008

A little hard to find, even with GPS I was a little confused where the entrance was. This is a "park & fly" hotel so the parking lot was always full (hard to find a good spot). Check in was easy & friendly. I reserved a king room but was given a double/double room. Not a big whoop thouugh. My room was on the 4th floor which is called the "Lindenburgh Level"; supposedly this level has special perks but I never experienced any. You have to use your room key in the elevator to get to this floor. Not sure what that's about except to maybe make you feel "exclusive". I had a beautiful view of the duck pond. High speed internet worked fine, no wireless though. Did not care for the sleep number bed - I just could not make it comfy for me. Everything else was fine. I'd stay again, but maybe in a room without the sleep number bed. Great Chinese restaurant within 2-3 miles. Happy Fortune something.

“Walls thin...bass all night long from unknown source!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2008

We found this hotel on our GPS while driving into Portland late one afternoon. It was a little hard to find (would have been near impossible without our GPS), but it was only minutes away from the airport, which was our primary concern. We went inside to inquire about rates, and I asked the young man if I could see a room. He seemed surprised at this request, but wordlessly lead me down a hall to a room. It looked fine - had two sinks outside the bathroom area, which was great since we had a 6 AM flight and two ladies needing to apply makeup and style hair. We found the room to be acceptable - large enough for the three of us and very practical because of the sinks. We also liked that there were two complimentary bottles of water. As we settled in for the night, we became aware of the sounds of a bass guitar from an undetermined location. We didn't think much about it, but as we tried to get to sleep, the bass continued. It was obvious that there was music playing somewhere in the hotel, but we were not able to identify it. And this vague bass sound continued...and continued....all night long. The next morning as we left, we could still hear it. So from a sleeping perspective, it was not a great experience. The beds were comfortable and the location was practical, although hard to find, and we wouldn't stay here again.

  • Liked — Close to airport
  • Disliked — The unwanted music throughout the night
