I was stayed in this hotel when this hotel was managed by Inna group. I had terrible experience during my last stay there. The hotel was poorly maintained and the service was terrible.
I really excited when I heard this hotel is being renovated and managed by Santika. I had high hope about this property future.
Last February, I had a chance to stay in Royal Ambarrukmo. I arrived in the hotel in the evening. The check in process was fast and smooth that time. I got my room key less than 10 mins. The room was big, clean and, of course, new. Overall I like it although I didn't feel the "royal" sensation in the room. I guess it because the room decor was minimalist. In my opinion, the decor was dull with less "luxe" element. The bathroom was nice and clean. I had a chance to explore most of the property. I liked how they preserve the historical building next door. I love their 'water castle'. The pool was also nice. My only complaint is the location of changing room which pretty far from the pool. One word for the breakfast at Royal Ambarrukmo, "fantastic". The variety of food was splurge. I got to taste many kinds of food from local to western. And, they give a free gamelan orchestra that made us feels like dine on keraton. During our stay, I also visited the Ambarrukmo Mall, which is just a few steps from the hotel.
Overall, I had good time during my stay at Royal Ambarrukmo. The renovation and changing of management had given this hotel high standard of accommodation, although, In my opinion, it failed to give the "royal" touch on the property. I really hope they will maintain the property well and improve their service so this hotel will survive in the future.
