Overlooking Hudson, this is a good, though a bit high-end, choice for a short stay. The hosts are friendly and accommodating, the breakfasts tasty, made to order, and beautifully presented. Not a great walk into town, but a very short and easy ride.

This B&B was fabulous. Miriam and Eric are wonderful hosts. The view from the porch is relaxing and peaceful. Easy trip into the town of Saugerties and to Woodstock. The home is beautiful and spacious. Make it your next destination.

The Renwick Clifton is the absolute best of the B&Bs. Miriam and Eric are the perfect hosts making sure that all of their guests needs are met. We make it a point to visit every year so they are no longer innkeepers, they are friends. The house and the rooms are beautifully decorated in period with a wonderful warm and cozy feel. Waking up in the May Powell room and looking at the Hudson River is just stunning no matter what season you visit. They are the quintessential hosts who happen to make extraordinary breakfasts. The scones and blueberry pancakes are definitely our favorites! The house and the grounds are just spectacular - a must stop if you are touring the Hudson Valley.

I was here this weekend on a girls' trip with my best friend and could not have been happier with how the weekend went. Eric and Miriam were the most pleasant, gracious hosts and were always available to make our stay most comfortable.

Home/Grounds: The home sits atop a mountain overlooking the Hudson River and thus has some of the most stellar river views I've seen. Their porch out back is stunning and we spent hours out there reading and enjoying the view. I can't imagine how amazing it would be during warmer weather where one would dine outside, as well. The hotel was decorated beautifully in Victorian style (which I loved,) and was formal yet cozy. There are also lovely areas all around the grounds for various activities: hammock, fire pit, tables/chairs, multiple walking paths. I didn't get to spend a lot of time in the game room, but that was a great touch, as well.

Bedroom: We stayed in the Mary Powell suite which was amazing. The views in the morning were spectacular, and the accouterments were perfect (bath robes, chocolates, very comfortable bed.) When I return, I will only stay in this room. I can imagine it would be perfectly romantic for a couple.

Food/service: Not only were Eric and Miriam pleasant, but they are amazing chefs! Living in NYC, my friend and I get tons of good food but I have to say this was the breakfast food I've ever had, from the scones to the eggs Benedict. You truly dine like royalty. The hosts also provide nice touches in the afternoon with wine and cheese, and there are always tasty snacks and drinks available.

There is not much more to say other than that I am desperate to return soon!

Room tip: Mary Powell has outstanding views and a happy ambiance.

What can I say that I havent said in all my yearly reviews about the best little B&B on the Hudson?? We visit once a year, Miriam (the owner) calls us regulars and more importantly, she calls us friends. Her B&B is immaculate, stunning, inviting.....her breakfasts are delicious and exquisitely prepared. Miriam and her husband Eric will treat you as though you are royalty, but that's how it goes at the Renwick Clifton House. You will be thoroughly pleased if you are fortunate enough to stay here and you will likely return and recommend the Renwick to friends and family, as we do so often. We were only able to stay a weekend, for much needed rest and relaxation and that's exactly what we got. It's a bonus to meet other nice couples who are also staying there. We cant imagine going anywhere else!

Room tip: All 4 rooms are fantastic, the Chancellor Livingston is warm and rich, the Mary Powell is bright, airy and all rooms are immaculate. They all have separate baths and only the Ansonia does not have a Hudson River view....the other 3 have river views.
