We stayed at the Lakeside Inn in Montauk after reading the review in the New York Times. We arrived at the Hotel where there was no office open to receive our key. It took us 30 minutes to finally find someone who had our key to get in our room. We got to the room to find out that it was nothing like the times had told us. This place was a huge dump. This room was completely covered with spiders inside and out. We had to fight our way through these spiders as we made a mess of the room trying to kill all of them. About an hour later we lost our power to our room. We went to the office to find a note on the door that gave us a number to call. We called to receive a message straight to voice mail. It was 2 hours later the plumber showed to fix our problem. He proceeded to yell at us about using hairdryers, that this would cause the power to go out. A angry man then showed us the boiler room if it were to happen again. Wow, it was our fault, then we had to fix the problem if it happened again. All for $275 a night. As we got power back we then realized that our spider problem was bigger then you could ever imagine. The entire building including the nightclub was covered with spiders. It was scary!! All for $275 a night. We could barely sleep through the night realizing how bad our problem really was. The next day we spoke with Gene the bartender who told us that Lakeside had been sprayed for bugs and spiders all throughout the summer, that it was a huge problem they couldn't solve. He told us that the owner Ryan could not be reached that he was in the City trying to save his business he was slowly losing. In the end we high tailed it out of the Lakeside realizing that this place was poorly managed, and infested with tons of spiders. After speaking with the bartender we got the feeling that the owner Ryan had no time for his Hotel, as well as no time for anything or anybody at his Hotel. All for $275
