Because it is not directly in Lincoln or Woodstock, Hillwinds is a little less expensive than other motels in the area. The rooms, ground, and pool are immaculate, the wifi signal is decent. They also offer free long-distance calling in North America, which was great as I didn't have cel reception.

There are some trails behind the motel if you want an early-morning walk, you're equidistant from Franconia Notch State Park and Littleton, and there's free breakfast too. The owners are friendly and accommodating. This was my second stay, and I would absolutely return again next year.

Room tip: The hotel allows pets, but there are a limited number of rooms, so be sure to ask before you come. You can also request a river view, if you want.

Loved our stay! We only had two full days to explore so this was a perfect location to see the beauty of the White Mountains. Flume Gorge, Mt. Washington, Franconia Notch State Park and much more! Thank you to our hosts!

We spent 2 nights at Hillwinds Lodge, and had a very good experience there. The service was excellent, the room quiet, facing a picturesque river, flowers, humming birds, even seeing a small bear were all part of the experience. Free wifi in the room, but turned spotty during a thunderstorm. Good breakfast served in a common room. Not many choices to eat at night in Franconia, just 2 restaurants open, and we didn't quite like our meal at Dutch Treat. Wanted to order pizza, but the wait for it was over an hour, so ordered other things on the menu and were disappointed. A lot more choices in Lincoln, about 20 min away. Franconia Notch is about 15 min away, so are other attractions (The Old Man Monument, Indian Head, etc)

We spend one night , we get a room in the "front swiming pool bulding". It was exactly what we where looking for. Room simple, well equiped (TV, hangers, lungages holder, bathroom). The swiming pool is very nice (they cover it in the night), not too cold, quite deep, towell supplied. The breakfast is a continental one, with disposable tableware, nobody there to serve but everything on display (coffee, milk, hot water, microwave, toaster, orange juice (Tropicana), yogourt, muffin ...
They have connected rooms if you have a large familly.

It was a perfect stop to enjoy hiking around (Flume gorge)
We will come back if we want to explore the area.

A very nice little place. The desk person was friendly and welcoming. We had a pool side room and sat out at a picnic table to enjoy a glass of wine.
The only complaint I would have is the late start (8 am) to breakfast.
