Hydro bath products enough for 2 people, we had 3 people in the room, only set up with 2 towel sets so we had to call for another towel set, the towels were thread bare and thin, and the edges actually had strings hanging from them, one actually had a hole in it. Flat screen tv, many channels, but some of the channels were grainy. Mattress was dead and mine had a divot to climb out of in the morning? Shiney marble bath floor would seem impractical because it gets slick? Tub grips were gray. No active vent fan. The rooms were probably last decorated in the 90s? The mattresses on the bed were bad for a person with a bad back, when I mentioned it to the front desk I got an answer of, "did you request a different room?" ah no not at 1:00am when I can't sleep, but she said they are air mattresses but I asked a person cleaning a random room and she was unable to locate the air adjustment thing, there is no mention of air mattresses anywhere. The front desk was understaffed and staffed with a rude person at that. She gave me a 10% discount after I complained about the mattresses. Kind of a marginal neighborhood. The river view was nice. The pool was ok but had pooling water at the edges. No continental breakfast. This place is a disappointment.

Room tip: Check out the mattress upon check in, make sure they have set up enough towels and don't set your expectations too high, this is an average place.

I selected this hotel a few months before the Fourth of July weekend because the Hilton Garden Inn's suites were already booked. Because I was going to stay for more than a couple of nights, I decided to prepay for the Presidential Suite. The room was very nice and clean. The building itself is very well constructed. (I had a large family with a baby and small children in the three adjacent rooms, and when I was in my room I could not hear them; the second I went out into the hall I could hear them.) Had I stayed here only a couple of nights, I probably would have been ore impressed. But the longer I stayed, the more the "small things" bothered me. The elevators are vintage 1970's and are slow and unresponsive. Apparently there are no service elevators, so expect to ride to the basement from time to time and see maintenance and housekeeping. There was one functioning ice machine for five floors of a hotel. (My first day here I called the front desk to advise them.) The water pressure in the bathroom and the bar sinks was very weak. The complimentary breakfast did not exist on the 4th of July ("sorry, it's a holiday.") or on Sunday ("oh, yeah, there's only brunch on Sunday and it's $16.95".) Either have complimentary breakfast or don't. Again, these are small things, but they add up and distinguish a good hotel from a great hotel. This hotel was adequate, but I take exception that it is the best hotel in the Sioux City area.

We stopped here because of bad weather in the area. What a pleasant surprise! The hotel is beautiful and the staff very helpful. We took a chance stopping here and were able to get adjoining rooms. Beds are wonderful and pillows good. Pool area very nice. We will stay here again when we are in this area.

Nice rooms. Comfortable bed. Great view of the river. Wish they had a smaller restaurant for families. Lots of room to park. Easy to get to off of the interstate. Very nice restaurant. We saw a lot of outdoor weddings there overlooking the river.

Room tip: Check with the desk to see which side of the building overlooks the river. Also check to see if you are on a floor with teams there to play in tournaments. They tend to run the halls.

We stay at the Marina Inn each time we travel to the Sioux City area. Beautiful hotel, modern, clean and large rooms. The pool area is great for families, as is the patio in the back. The restaurant and bar offer great food and beverage choices too.
