We spent two nights in the Bach room at the Inn at Hermannhof on the advice of a friend. It was the nicest bed and breakfast experience we've ever had. The room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable - lovely antique furniture coupled with modern amenities like a huge steam shower, claw foot bathtub, very efficient air conditioning (the outside temp was close to 100 degrees so it was quite important), refrigerator for cold water and wine, soft comforters, and pillows, etc. After a long day and drive, arriving at 9pm, we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine and delicious snacks (small sausage rolls and cookies) that were thoughtfully left for us by the innkeepers. The immaculately kept stone cottages were charming and provided magnificent views of the vineyards, river and town. The owners couldn't have been nicer. Our only small quibble is that the German food, in general, was a bit heavy for our taste, especially in such extremely hot weather, but that was not a surprise and is part of the experience - you don't go to the town of Hermann for "spa cuisine" . Highly recommended, highest quality, a fantastic experience in every way.
