After a bad experience with another Hilton in St. Louis (see my reviews to find out which one), I shifted to this one for the last two nights of my stay and though I wasn't sure at first if I had made the right decision, I definitely am now.
The hotel is massivce.. not in height, but in area space. I actually got lost the first day -- but the fact that the hotel was taken over by some danceathon organization probably didn't help either. In my 3 days, 2 night stay, I've seen the hotel ballroom (which is really nice) used for a wedding, post wedding brunch, dance-a-thon and some other big gathering.
The hotel is very french in style, the music they play and the way the staff is dressed and acts. The rooms are very floral printed -- normally I'm not a fan of that pattern, but with the rest of the french flair the hotel embraces, it fits right in.
Though the hotel has all the ammneties of most HIltons I stay in, its still carries a more "elegant" label than it does "modern". To go along with that because of its placement in the city, its also very quiet -- almost eerie at times because you don't know if anyone else is even living in any of the rooms near you.
Upside: free parking and massive parking lot. Room service was excellent, prompt and the food was actually good in comparison to my other Hilton stay food/room service.
I think next time I am in St Louis, I will probably stick to staying here -- its not too far from the airport either.
