The outside of the hotel should be your first tip-off. The attached restaurant is all-boarded up with plywood...and the prior (Holiday Inn) sign has been removed and not replaced with any kind of sign. It looks like an abandoned building. Then....when you walk inside, to the front check-in, the wall behind the workers is a delightful emerald green with all kinds of dry-wall patch marks. As this was the second impression of the hotel after seeing the outside...I was a bit concerned. The room was clean although a bit strange looking. There were no bedskirts on the bed and metal frame and legs were exposed. Windows had sheer curtains on them so, if the lights were on in the room, you did not have privacy. Side entry doors to enter your room were "Out of Order" so I had to hall my stuff quite a distance to get to my room. And the ice machines were also "Out of Order." Geeze....for a discounted rate of $100.00 per night...this place is sub-standard! Our group booked this hotel more than a year ago, as a Holiday Inn. Believe me...the standards are not the same. My advice to the owners of the Lansing Conference Center and Hotel is, "CLEAN YOUR HOUSE BEFORE INVITING GUESTS TO STAY!"
