My Wife, our son and I have had the very good fortune of staying in some beautiful five star resorts over the past decade, each one of them was uniquely beautiful and relaxing in thier own way. Every time we were leaving one of them we would say " I can't wait to come back here again" We have never returned to any one of those beautiful resorts..............until now.
Hidden Pond, without fail, was and still is our favorite hotel/resort to go for a vacation (2X), it's the kind of place that I think even Hemingway may have had difficulty describing it's beauty, spacious private cottages that are all uniquely designed, you have your own private screened in patio to relax, nap, eat, drink coffee and play board games on (I recommend all). The staff and service is impeccable, they appear to have the gift of knowing when to be around for help and when to disappear for privacy and still make you feel like family, and every morning you wake up to find fresh squezzed O.J. and warm breads and muffins on your front porch (nice touch).
The pool and main lodge are equally impressive, the set up of this entire resort must be seen to be believed. You are very close to everything, Beach, restaurants, downtown, lobsters, etc. yet when you get back to your cottage you feel like you are miles from civilization.
We would (and have) several times, recommended this place to our friends and family, we are quite sure they are sick of hearing about it, but if you decide to treat yourself to this place, you'll understand

Where to start..

1) The grounds are unbelievable.. remote, private and in the Fall.. just breathtaking.. the spruce trees, the leaves, the silence of quiet and remoteness.. just perfect..

2) The cottages.. all amazing.. decorated to a theme and the touches are all homey and every detail is considered. The cottages are all very clean.. probably more so than my own home.. The fireplace.. wonderful and easy to use..

3) The morning breakfast delivery (free I might add).. fresh and amazing.. left on your porch each morning.

4) The bonfire and lodge- all amazing experiences.. very homey and they make you feel like the lodge is yours also..

5) The garden.. very cool.. you can pick your own spices/veggies.. I used several when I cooked..

6) The customer service - all amazing friendly people. Went out of there way to help with day trip foilage planning, made sure we had bottled water and something to eat..

I would stay here again in any season (they are closed in December but Xmas would be amazing).. A very very personable and comfortable place..

If I were to change anything about the property.. I think they need blinds on the doors.. even though it's a private place.. in the evenings women can get uncomfortable with no privacy on the doors..

My husband and I had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Hidden Pond. The courteous staff did everything humanly possible to make us comfortable - magically appearing when we needed something and remaining invisible when privacy was the priority. As we had hoped, Hidden Pond seemed to be the perfect place to retreat and tune out the real world though on those occasions when we chose to venture out, there was a charming nature trail, fitness classes and best of all - bicycles at our disposal. And if you happen to linger too long at the comfy lounge where the bartenders make PERFECT martinis - fear not! In the very early morning, SOMEONE leaves hot coffee, juice, milk and muffins warm from the oven just outside your door. Seriously - you won't want to leave.

Hidden Pond...what a retreat! The grounds are beautiful, located about 10 mins by car from KBT town center. Our cottage was # 11 Lucky -- beautifully decorated and comfortable. The screened porch was perfect for reading the newspaper in the mornings after receiving your "breakfast basket" with homemade fresh breads, muffins, orange juice, coffee, and a different marmalade every day. You can borrow a bicycle and stroll down to Goose Rocks Beach for a tranquil walk. The fresh air, the foliage, the cool weather, and the combination of a beautiful place like Kennebunkport together with Hidden Pond made for a perfect escape! Can't wait to return!
