My wife and I came to Decatur for a friend's wedding. After a plane flight from Orlando and a three hour drive from the airport, we were beyond tired.

After endless corn and soybean fields (during our drive) we started to get worried that the town wouldn't have a decent hotel. How wrong we were! Our suite had a cozy sitting area, comfortable bed, fridge, and a flat screen TV.

The room was immaculate when we arrived, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is located on Mt. Zion, which is one of the only big roads in town. There are a handful of places to eat and shop almost within walking distance.

We hit the Jimmy Johns on the same road as we were just about ready to eat our car seats. Their subs are fresh, filling, and downright delicious.

This place is a bit out of the way from the area I usually stay, i.e., up north in Forsyth, but there are plenty of services to be had, so that wasn't an issue. It's a "suite" hotel, meaning you get a kitchenette with microwave, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, and cooktop. Rooms are very large, spotless, and the best part . . . QUIET. I mean, no road noise (or very little), as opposed to staying up north where trucks are constantly rumbling past. This means sleep quality is great. And because it's a suite, you don't have to eat your dinner on your bed or at the desk -- there's actually a table.

Breakfast was bit lacking in the fresh fruit department, but other than that, this place is very nice. I'll definitely be back.

Room tip: Ask for a room on the top floor facing south, preferably southeast.

We enjoyed a restful night at this Decatur hotel. It is spacious and clean. We received a really good rate on a king suite (mini kitchen area, sofa, chair, and coffee table) on a Sunday evening. Also comes with a separate make-up area, complete with swivel mirror. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the three pillows on the bed with brown pillow shams--seemed a little unsanitary since they probably aren't changed every day. Otherwise, nice breakfast area with usual continental fare, including real dishes, and the staff is very friendly. We would stay here again.

Judy,

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us. We are pleased to hear your response. I agree with your response about the brown pliilows. We do wash them every week but they are not changed every day. To be honest most hotels do not change these every day so when I travel I actually remove them from the bed.

Thanks again for the kind review and we look forward to seeing you again!
