As a brand, Hilton Hotels are problematic enough—and I say this as a member of HGVC—but the “motel” experience of the “Garden Inn” is even worse. It’s all about appearances: just don’t take that closer look. The rooms are spacious and well appointed; however the bed is one of the worst I’ve ever slept in: like sleeping on a steep incline. So no matter how firm you could adjust the mattress to be, you still slept like a pretzel, falling into the deep crevasse in the middle. I’m not convinced the rumpled sheets were clean—nor that the kleenex in the bed was my own. And in this day and age, there was no double-sheeting: who knows when that comforter had last been cleaned. Certainly, the black spots on it were not reassuring. Apparently it was too much trouble to rinse out the in-room coffee pot, which was filthy the next day, to ensure that the room clock was set to the correct time, or to provide shower caps in the room. The restaurant is truly vile: a depressing summer-camp like setting with chafing dishes full of old potatoes and sausage/bacon but no eggs, bread stuff so full of preservatives that it was gag-inducing (even the bagels were inedible). Thank heavens for some fresh fruit. The worst of it is that, in a hotel with signs all over the room that your satisfaction is guaranteed, the default answer of staff is that there’s nothing they can do when they’re booked solid. Thus, no matter how poorly situated or unsatisfactory your full-price room is, there is, as usual, nothing that Hilton can do. By the way: right in the flight pattern of the nearby airport. I stayed here on business in accommodations selected by my employer: but I think you can see why I’d never choose a Hilton Hotel.

Thanks for your feedback. ... I sincerely regret that you did not enjoy your recent stay with us. Mainly, I think we failed to inform you about many of our hotel's features during your pre-arrival/arrival, as we actually do provide the services that you say we are lacking. Given that I'd appreciate it if you could give me a call directly to make things right for you.

Just to make a few corrections… (1) You asked "who knows when that comforter had last been cleaned?" Actually, we do not use comforters in a single room. We use duvets that get washed before each guest's arrival. (2) Shower caps are available free of charge on request. (3) We check for accuracy of the time on room clocks regularly; they just do not reset automatically for Daylight Savings Time, which we noted in each guest's key packet that day. (4) We do serve eggs in our restaurant. We make omelets and eggs to order (the reason you did not see them in a chaffing dish).
