The lobby was decent if a little dated, and the woman at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. However, as soon as I got out of the elevator on the second floor I smelled something unpleasant. It continued as we got to our room and into our room. I relate it to something between mildew and wet dog. I actually coughed a bit each time I came back to our room from outside.
The room did not fair much better. The full kitchen was well equipped and very handy and the space was roomy if a little awkwardly designed. However the lighting was poor and resulted in dim lighting conditions no matter what we did except in the bathroom. The carpets were slightly damp all over for some reason I could not determine. Not wet really, but just enough to make your socks stick to your feet.
There was a large LCD TV in the living room and the couches were decently comfortable. The bed was also decently comfortable. The bathrooms was a bit strange with only a stall shower that was as wide as full bath tub shower. The shower curtain that did not go all the way to the bottom of the stall and it was a cheap looking shower head that you can hold onto. The bathroom was almost too spacious and made me feel like there was wasted space in the room.
The balconies were under closed due to maintenance, this is understandable, but the front desk person said we would have "great" views anyway. The view outside the living room was the A1A highway and outside the bedroom was the Wyndam hotel and maybe some beach if you looked at just the right angle.
Parking is free which is nice, but otherwise I do not think I would stay here again. Stick with the Wyndam or the Hilton as they looked to be the only nice places around this area.
