“This place is a dump but a great value”

VJ, the manager, may be one of the nicer guys around. The hotel is $39 per night and this is a case of you get what you pay for. The pool is clean and sparkling. The rooms are clean but extremely dated; the bathrooms are a cut below my college dorm. If you want a really cheap hotel in a good location, this could be it. Don't expect anything and you just might be pleasantly surprised but if you have a strong sense of smell, you may have to avoid this place.

“don't even go there!”

Nasty, nasty nasty. If you like filthy, small, outdated rooms. This is the place for you. The temp. was around 112 that day, and the air conditioning did not work. I am surprised that motels of this nature can even remain in business. The staff was more interested in my credit card, than my happiness. There was nothing that the motel could have done to cause me to stay there. I'm serious people DON'T GO THERE!!!!! In addition, go down the road to Palm Desert, and you will find very nice places to stay for just a few dollars more per night.

“Biggest Rip Off”

I used AARP to find a hotel to stay at while in Palm Springs for a family reunion. I called AARP two days prior to the family arrival for a reservation. I visited the property a day before check-in. I immediately informed the owner that his property was not satisfactory and requested a refund. He refused. This office of this facility was horrible, There were overflowing trash cans in plain view and it was evident that the family lived in the rear of the office from the smell of cooking. I knew that I would not be able to spend one night in this place. So, I convinced one of my family member (young nephew) to stay at the hotel in my place. I had paid for three nights ($75.00+tax per night). My nephew turned in the key the next morning not realizing that the room was paid for three nights. When he informed me of what he had done, I went to the hotel and requested that I be given a room for the next two nights as paid for or that my money be refunded. The owner manger refused. I am still suffering mentally from this experience!!

“UNBELIEVABLE”

So there we were a group of friends off to Palm Springs to enjoy a weekend of fun in the sun. Now granted, it was spur of the moment and all the hotels in the area seemed to be booked up; except for The Desert Lodge. While the price was right, that was the only thing right! The rooms were incomprehensible! The AC barely worked and I'm fairly sure most people like to sleep in comfort and not a pool of sweat! As for the showers, bring shower shoes; you'll thank me. The room was bad, but the other occupants were worse. When it came time to venture out for the evening the only thing on my mine was my personal belongings back at the room and if they would still be there upon my return! And lastly, while at the pool I noticed there was a rather large group of tattooed men all staying in one room, while I shouldn't pre judge these men I can say I was genuinely concerned for the well being of the ladies in my group. To put it simply, security or a swat team is a necessity at The Desert Lodge... Just don’t do it, If you're thinking of staying here; stop. You'll thank me!
