I used AARP to find a hotel to stay at while in Palm Springs for a family reunion. I called AARP two days prior to the family arrival for a reservation. I visited the property a day before check-in. I immediately informed the owner that his property was not satisfactory and requested a refund. He refused. This office of this facility was horrible, There were overflowing trash cans in plain view and it was evident that the family lived in the rear of the office from the smell of cooking. I knew that I would not be able to spend one night in this place. So, I convinced one of my family member (young nephew) to stay at the hotel in my place. I had paid for three nights ($75.00+tax per night). My nephew turned in the key the next morning not realizing that the room was paid for three nights. When he informed me of what he had done, I went to the hotel and requested that I be given a room for the next two nights as paid for or that my money be refunded. The owner manger refused. I am still suffering mentally from this experience!!
