“UNBELIEVABLE”

So there we were a group of friends off to Palm Springs to enjoy a weekend of fun in the sun. Now granted, it was spur of the moment and all the hotels in the area seemed to be booked up; except for The Desert Lodge. While the price was right, that was the only thing right! The rooms were incomprehensible! The AC barely worked and I'm fairly sure most people like to sleep in comfort and not a pool of sweat! As for the showers, bring shower shoes; you'll thank me. The room was bad, but the other occupants were worse. When it came time to venture out for the evening the only thing on my mine was my personal belongings back at the room and if they would still be there upon my return! And lastly, while at the pool I noticed there was a rather large group of tattooed men all staying in one room, while I shouldn't pre judge these men I can say I was genuinely concerned for the well being of the ladies in my group. To put it simply, security or a swat team is a necessity at The Desert Lodge... Just don’t do it, If you're thinking of staying here; stop. You'll thank me!

property doesn't look like its been updated since the place was built in the 50's. We booked it by the looks & price on the internet.......worse mistake I have ever made. We got there and the room was extremely hot and the air didn't work. called down to the desk and the manager/owner came and took a look. at least he moved us to another room. the wiring looked like the pictures i have seen in photos of 3rd world countries. i could go on but don't want to waste too much more time. we checked out earlier and they charged us a nights rate for canceling (what a rip off) then to make things even more absurd he kept trying to tell me what a great rate I had and that same room was going to cost some poor sole 200.00 that night.......HAHAHA

“Cannot get any worse”

An absolute filthy place with unfriendly front office staff. Stayed only because we were late into Palm Springs - should have slept in the car and saved money and health, Fortunately we travel with Tea Tree Oil, a natural disinfectant and, believe me, we used lots of it!!
Do NOT stay here at any price. Eccccchhhh!!

“This must be Palm Sring's Worst”

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed. My friend and I wanted to stay at the Travel Lodge only a block or two away, but they were booked. We were going to spend Thanksgiving with my sister who lives in the area and needed a place to spend Thanksgiving night. He called Hotels.com and they recommended this place. We both forgot to check the reviews on TripAdvisor. The directions were a little off. However, as we we drove in, it is like people write here...you heart sinks in... No curb appeal whatsoever. You immediately know this place is not going to be good. Walking up the stairs to our room, you think the cement steps are going to fall apart since they're so badly cracked. As we walked into our room, the beds were nicely made. However, the mattresses were old and very wabbly. The carpets throughout the whole hotel are in very bad shape. The outside painting is old and peeling. Inside, you will find walls that are somewhat dirty. The blinds are old with panels missing. I told my friend let's get out of here since this place is so depressing. He tried to call Hotels.com for some partial credit but they just kept saying there's nothing they could do. After our short trip to Starbucks, we had to get ready for Thanksgiving dinner. I got it in the shower. After a few seconds of the water running, the shower head came flying off hitting my head. I started to laugh histerically to the point of crying. I never imagined this hotel to be soooo bad. The worst part of all is that my friend had to fork out $115 with taxes. If you have to stay at this place, $40-50 should be the max. Location is good being that it's only about 1 mile from downtown Palm Spring. The neighborhood is safe. Those are the only good things about it. The property itself is a dump. The city of Palm Springs should revoke their license to operate unless they go through some renovation.

“Don't stay here unless you have had your shots”

I booked through American Airlines who go through Expedia. American Airlines should be ashamed of themselves for referring me to such a discraceful hotel. The first night I put down to experience but after the room was not serviced and the manager verbally abused me I called the police to witness that I was leaveing the room in the condition I found it. The police were proud of their city but embarrassed about this hotel. American Airlines firstly refused to give me a refund but an hour later after reading the reviews on here called be back and have promised me a full refund. They say they cannot delist this propery as they have a contract. The photos do not match what you get and this forum is invaluable. I only wish I check before rather than trusting American Airlines.
