My husband and I only stayed for the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights) and found check-in to be painless at 9:30 PM (front desk staff super friendly and fast), coming in from LA. We were even able to get a very quiet room up on the third floor (301) away from most of the younger crowd. We like a room away from elevators, ice machines, pool, etc. It was quiet - perfect!
The bathroom is nice because the vanity is outside so my husband could be taking a shower or going to the bathroom while I was blow-drying my hair. Perfect if you are traveling with a friend or someone who needs privacy.
The king bed has enough room for two, heck three! Firm enough so you don't wake up with a sore back but not too hard that you felt you were sleeping on the floor. Four pillows, again, just enough firmness to offer support.
Sure, parts of the hotel could be rehabbed. People put too much emphasis on a great- looking lobby, nice to have but better value (80-90% of your time is spent in your room) if $$ spent on upgrading the room.
The parking lot is well lit, I felt secure leaving my car parked. We were able to get Marrriott points even though we booked through a third party! Loved that.
