First, I want to make it clear that we like Desert Breezes...a lot. Much thanks to SFX. Our tastes tend toward the simple. If it's roomy, clean, quiet, light, good shower, good kitchen, good staff, great location, great grills, good pool, nice grounds.....we're happy. And Desert Breezes qualifies beautifully in all these respects. However a couple of (hopefully helpful) things should be noted.
1.At the first visit it's difficult getting through the entry gate. Without the electronic pass, one must enter 004 (or something like that) to open the gate. The instructions are on a panel, but the plexiglass cover is so weathered it's hard to see and read. These directions should be emphasized in a pre-visit email or letter.
2.We were in an upstairs unit, and the steps coming down can be hazardous at night. There are ground lights at the side of a few steps, but these created shadows on the other steps and made descending dicey. Some sort of overhead lighting would be very helpful. Absent that, a reflective tape or paint border on each step would really help.
3.Avocado carpeting. Really? (OK, no biggie, but indicated some dating).
4.The Wi-Fi system ($15 per week) was dicey. I kept getting thrown off and prompted for another access number. When I finally contacted the vendor's help desk, they walked me through the fix, and it turned out mine was not an unusual issue. It would be very helpful if management would include a "Wi-Fi Help Sheet", perhaps prepared by the IT vendor, with the check-in materials.
As mentioned, we like Desert Breezes a lot. We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay, and we look forward to returning.
