I would like to give a big thumbs up to the Manager at the La Quinta in Oakland, Ca. I stayed there one week ago for a business seminar I was attending. I was pleasantly suprised by the nice furnishings and clean hotel when I arrived. The desk girl was so nice and very helpful. My room was clean and everything looked new. It is rare these days to stay at a hotel and have nothing go wrong and have all of your needs fulfilled. Way to go La Quinta!!!

I made my reservation for 1 night back in April. In July, I changed that to two nights, Check in the 7th and check out the 9th. On the website it states that it won't show the changes online, but that is was confirmed by the hotel. 3 days before I arrived, I received an email stating my arrival for one night. I called the hotel and spoke with the manager and she stated that her computer has me for 2 nights and that the email was machine generated. I confirmed this again that day before I left without telling the lady at the counter. I just asked how many nights it had me for and she stated 2.
I arrived there and they had me for only one night and they tried to "jack" up the price from $79 to $159 per night. Every other hotel was booked due to a Monday night football game in town, and I was traveling by myself, a female, to Oakland. I didn't get another hotel until after midnight, and for over $300. La Quinta did nothing to help. All they said was "Sorry, we can't help you".
Horrible. I just wrote to the company and I will come back and let you know if they help me out and reimburse me for my troubles.

Arriving very late to a trip to the bay area, we needed a place to stay overnight and found La Quinta through prior reviews. It was pretty much what others said. Starting with, Mario, our shuttle driver, who was prompt, friendly and helpful despite limited English, our exprerience was positive. The rooms are clean and good sized and the beds are comfortable. The bathtub was scratched, but clean - and a bathmat is provided so it was fine. They are in the process of redoing rooms, so this may be addressed soon. The breakfast was slightly above the usual fare - it included hard boiled eggs!!! and decent coffee. All the staff was friendly and helpful - when the waffle batter ran out it was cheerfully and quickly replaced. We took the free shuttle back to the airport in the morning to pick up our rental car - saving a days rental - and then went back to the hotel to check out. Our only minor complaint is that, if you have a room far away from the front desk and entrys, there is no other entrance - so if you have a lot of bags, it is a bit of a haul. However, after comparing prices in the area, La Quinta definitely seemed like a very good deal.

This was a great deal for a park & fly. Got a clean room for one night and three days of parking for $100 + tax. Parking alone at OAK would have been $45. This enabled us to take an early morning flight and not have to deal with the Bay Area commute traffic on a weekday. Good basic accommodation with shuttle service to the airport. Normally, a two to three star hotel, but the good deal on park & fly, gave it an "above average" review. Would not have stayed here under any other circumstance though.
