Having lived in Novato for more than 20 years and been politically involved in the development of Hamilton Field, it was a pleasure to return and survey the results. Marriott Courtyard is one part of the many positives: great location to visit Napa Valley or Sears Point, a few steps from the Marin Airport bus service, superb staff, surprisingly quiet, and the famous comfort of Marriott mattresses. Two minor recommendations: (1) add a few toiletries such as skin lotion and shower cap for the ladies; and (2) in the dining area, replace the annoying hip-hop teenage background music with something more appropriate for the business and vacation clientele. Maybe some Frank Sinatra 50's?

Room tip: Heavy window glass keeps out noise from Highway 101 and late arrivals. Ask for an end room at the east end of the fourth floor for extra comfort.

I had canceled my saved card on the Marriott web-site so it kicked me back when I thought I was done. I figured out I needed to update my credit card number and did so then hit submit, Evidently, the reservation page reverted to the current date rather than what I had asked for. (most travel sites save whatever the last search was.) I didn't catch the date change so wound up with a no-show! I checked my cell phone app prior to checking in and realized there was a problem. 20 minutes with customer service couldn't fix it and no manager was available when we checked in so had to wait till next day. Still no manager but later that day we got a call telling us they had straightened it out and charges were reversed for the missed day, Otherwise a typical Courtyard stay. Clean and comfortable.

Hotel is clean and staff was very helpful and polite. Our bed was not comfortable to point neither of us really felt rested. Rooms are clean and there is a small fridge which came in handy. Good place to stay that is close to highway but a good 45-60 minutes to Napa or Sonoma

Marriott Courtyard - Close off US 101 in Novato, CA lies a nice place to stay that is clean, offers Starbucks and free Internet. The rooms are modern and well kept. Several locations for meals, gas etc.. Safeway and even a McDonald's are next door. The people in the area are friendly as are the employees. A good place to stop off if you ae going to Muir Woods National Park, Stenson Beach or even San Quentin!! The latter has a nice gift shop of items made by inmates.

Room tip: Dress warm if you are going to Muir Woods. It is worth the drive, 25 miles away.
