“What a complete pleasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2009

We had the pleasure of staying in Deebert House Hotel for a family birthday party also hosted by the hotel recently. Margaret, Jamal and staff really could not have done more to ensure that it was a memorable occasion in every way, from arranging contacts, organising the room, taking care of guest lists, nothing was too much. The banquet was tremendous, the food outstanding. I really cannot say enough about this hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. My only regret, not having an excuse to travel down soon again!

“watch out! no residents bar....and a rude porter.”

I recently travelled to Kilmallock for the fourth time in about six years. We always stayed at the Deebert and looked forward to the usual friendly service and welcome. We had an outstanding Dinner in the restaurant ,went out to an evening of Drama at the local theatre and returned to wind up the evening at the Deebert.
However,at this point our evening took a turn for the worse. My friends and I noticed that one of the bar staff seemed very abrupt ,to the point of being ignorant towards us and created a very frosty atmosphere. When one of my party requested a drink after 1 o'clock am we were all informed by the same barman.. of indian or asian origin...that there WAS NO residents bar and that it was at the discretion of the hotel whether or not it provided one.Imust point out at this stage that this is my first time ever complaining about an hotel and that my party of friends was not in any way agressive towards this individual previously.
We certainly will not be returning to Deebert House in the future.....we felt we were poorly treated (having spent quite an amount of money in the hotel....between bedrooms ,restaurant and bar.Consideriing the difficult ecoonomic circumstances we find ourselves in ,we hope it stays fine for Deebert and its staff.

“This is a warm, comfortable, welcoming hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2009

Walking with the Ballyhoura Bears Walking Club brought me to the Deebert House Hotel for their Ballyhoura Autumn Rambling Weekend in mid Oct. Superb quality, a fair price and great hospitality shown throughout the whole weekend. Good food and music sessions. A most enjoyable stay. I'm delighted to recommend this based on my stay there.
The walking was challenging and wonderful. Friendly, welcoming 'Bears'. Kilmallock is a very interesting town historically. Lots of fresh air. A weekend with a difference.

“For walking or cycling in Ballyhoura this is the perfect place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2009

The hotel is geared towards walkers and cyclists and they will organise leaders to go on mountain or forest treks with you. The walking is amazing and you have views over the Golden Vale or though ancient beech woods, beautiful river walks. The walks can be as difficult or as easy as your fitness allows. The Ballyhoura Bears Walking Club organise two large walking festivals every year, one in October and the other in May. The Bears walk every weekend anyway. Its a great way to get fit and the O'Sullivan family in Deebert House offer a welcoming, homely stay.
