I recently travelled to Kilmallock for the fourth time in about six years. We always stayed at the Deebert and looked forward to the usual friendly service and welcome. We had an outstanding Dinner in the restaurant ,went out to an evening of Drama at the local theatre and returned to wind up the evening at the Deebert.
However,at this point our evening took a turn for the worse. My friends and I noticed that one of the bar staff seemed very abrupt ,to the point of being ignorant towards us and created a very frosty atmosphere. When one of my party requested a drink after 1 o'clock am we were all informed by the same barman.. of indian or asian origin...that there WAS NO residents bar and that it was at the discretion of the hotel whether or not it provided one.Imust point out at this stage that this is my first time ever complaining about an hotel and that my party of friends was not in any way agressive towards this individual previously.
We certainly will not be returning to Deebert House in the future.....we felt we were poorly treated (having spent quite an amount of money in the hotel....between bedrooms ,restaurant and bar.Consideriing the difficult ecoonomic circumstances we find ourselves in ,we hope it stays fine for Deebert and its staff.
