I think this hotel is very new, so the whole place had a feel of being very empty. As a result, we were able to negotiate a good rate (it was a weekday) for what was a very nice suite. They are extremely hot (we were there in winter) but well appointed with a small kitchen type area. However, as we found out when we tried to self-cater (there is a very well stocked supermarket in the resort) apparently our rate didn't include being able to use this kitchen, which was all rather perplexing! There is a distinct lack of food options on site - we ended up eating quite late once we'd sorted out the confusion with not being able to use the kitchen and the only thing available was the Berries n Beans cafe. Not a great dinner!
The proximity to the waterpark is very good - they are part of the same complex - and if you are staying in the hotel the discount to use it is sizeable and worth it. The waterpark is well worth a visit - lots of slides etc and hot water pools - not all of which were open due to it being winter. More food options at the waterpark - but you have to eat before you pass through the barriers to come out.
On a very positive note, Hanwha do run a bus shuttle service from in front of their building in Seoul out to the Sorak complex - a much easier way to get here than by using public transport. They also went out of their way to help us get back something that we left on the bus, despite the bus having gone to one of their other resorts.
Might be one to watch for the future - perhaps a few teething problems to iron out....
