“Definitely will return again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2010

I was here for a stag party with some friends. It was recommended by one of my friends who had been last year. we will never stop talking about this town.
The hotel and staff were great they went out of there way to help us. Even the manager walked us up to the town to show us some good bars we felt like VIPs.
they also arranged paint ball and go carting for us with lifts too and from the place.
the food was great and bar service was quick.
I will definitely have my own stag party here

“Great hotel absolutely spot on.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2010

My extended family gather here every year for a reunion and have never had a reason to complain the staff have always been very courteous and helpful although i think they may be under new management as i did not recognize any of the staff.
the food is simple and not overdone and the bar staff are fast and friendly. i would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Meath or Navan its perfect.

“STAG NIGHT HOTEL”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2010

Stayed one Saterday night while attending a 40th birthday party in another restaurant, returned to hotel with another couple who were not guests for a night cap, was refused entry for our friends. I always treated a hotel I was staying in as my home and felt I had a right to return with friends. We retired to our room only to find three men asleep in the corridor. There were people in the corridor partying all night. We rang reception several times but they seemed to have no control. The noise continued until 7.30 am. The next morning at breakfast the manager apologized and promised to call me later to do something to compensate us, but he did not. we are a couple in our fifties and really need our sleep so we went home and went to bed. We lost the whole Sunday. But to make matter worse the promised to call. A very bad hotel and bad staff with no regard for there older guests. They seem to be only intrested in stag partys. So all you young mad lads who want a place to party, this is the place for you.

“Do not stay at this hotel - cleaning staff are horrible and rude”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 April 2010

Stayed in this hotel for second time with partner and family, I asked for a quiet room but got the opposite ( above nightclub). Food in restaurant was nice, on day of check out cleaning staff came into my room at 11.50 (did not knock ) I said I would be ready to leave in five mins , to which she pointed at her watch. I went to close the door and she told me no I could not close door ( she wanted to stand and make me feel uncomfortable.) Similar was done to a family member on a different floor. I complained to reception. The mamager apologied. He offered me a free lunch ( easy for him considering he seen my partner and family leaving hotel and packing car.. I will not stay in this hotel again and they have lost a lot of business from my family

“Nice and friendly at the Newgrange”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 March 2010

With all the new hotels built (and now empty/gone bust), it's great to see a hotel which is clearly well-established and manages to strike a balance between local custom and tourists. We were there as part of a hen party (there was at least one other hen party, two stag partys and a group of German bikers). And all of this while their 'local' business continued, including a scouting group, a talent academy and a musical evening. The staff couldn't have been nicer to us and were infinitely patient as we repeatedly mislaid our room key cards. Breakfast was very good - lovely scones as well as very promptly delivered cooked breakfasts cooked from scratch (no food lying around under heater lamps) and nice fruit too.

Ok, the rooms were grand - our first (larger) room had a problem in that it didn't lock so we were moved to a smaller room. The lighting wasn't good -no central light and some of the lamps couldn't be plugged in but again, the friendliness of the staff and the very low cost of the room meant you would overlook these kind of things.

Dinner was a little disappointing - the hotel was dealing with alot of large groups but if you are going to accept bookings then you need to have enough staff on the night. While there was butter on the table, we weren't given bread till we asked and even then, we were given bread for six persons (there were 19 at the table!). It also took quite a while to get wine. Food was grand - again, fine for the price charged.

All in all, this was perfect for what we wanted. Given the noise that filters out from the pub to certain rooms and from the footpath outside the hotel once the nightclub ends, it's definitely not a place for a romantic and quiet weekend but if you're looking for a central location, free parking, and friendly staff for your time in Navan, then this is for you.
