“Did not feel safe”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 July 2010

The parking garage is around the corner and I did not feel safe with a teenage daughter. The adult bookstore across the street didn't help. The room was dirty and the carpet needs replaced. The tub didn't drain so you're standing in ankle deep water when you're done with the shower. The air conditioning unit did not work well - cold then kicks heat on randomly. Pillows were hard and worn. Upon check out I complained but the desk clerk didn't care. The only plus was the pool which was nice.

“Decent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

Attended a conference at the Convention Center, downtown, and wanted a convenient and affordable hotel (others were sooo expensive around the Center!). We enjoyed our stay here. Positives: Hotel shuttle service was great and ran on the hour to/from Convention Ctr. All I had to do was call them up if I wanted a lift back to the hotel. Room was clean, and we were able to get a room with a refrig and microwave (upon availability) since we were there for 1 week. Able to walk to Light Rail, which was a great way to travel back and forth, as well. (Purchased a light rail/trolley ticket, but it was never collected....hmmmm. :) EASY, safe travel). Breakfast was really good, but costs $11. Negs: I didn't like walking to the hotel from the trolley/Light Rail after 9 :30 (when the hotel shuttle service stopped running) since there were no lights on the streets. If walking with a buddy for the 1.5 blocks, not so bad, but still...we were two women in an unknown environment....I didn't care for that. so, keep this in mind if hanging out late in downtown Phoenix. The A.C. unit intermittently stopped running during the night, so we were sweating and then cold throughout the night...not good. It was difficult to adjust the AC temp so that we were always comfortable. :( Hotel controlled this, I'm sure. No shuttle service on the weekends. But, again, the Light Rain runs until 1 am (?) so this was not a real problem for us. Used the hotel "wake up call" one night in order to wake up in the early AM. I received a call to wake up around 11 pm.....hmmm....not sure what happened there! "Business Center"...not really existent. They had a computer that we could use to download conference materials (powerpoints) for free; however, the computer was sooo painfully slow that I only used it one time. Had to reboot several times. So, bring materials before arriving? Food choices around the area.....if on foot, it might be hard to get to some places. We ate downtown before going home (mostly). Generally, we enjoyed where we stayed. It worked out well, and was VERY affordable and safe.

“A hidden jewel in Phoenix”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 May 2010

I selected this hotel for convenience to a venue that I was attending a show at. The hotel was excellent. Remodeled and everyone on the staff went out of their way to be helpful. The pool are is very nice with 2 pools. Restaurant and bar area excellent. Close to downtown, airport and tram. I enjoyed the hotel so much that I have stayed here twice this year.

Experience was wonderful. Staff was great. Food was pretty good, and the rooms were clean (great change from other hotels in the area). I will be back with the family to enjoy the pool.
