Fab location, good selection of food, friendly hotel staff and lovely gardens

Stayed in room 6202- lovely brand new room.

Rooms in the older buildings looked like dark little caves - I'd have felt differently if I'd been put it one of those. Email the hotel in advance to ask for a newer room

Don't be put off by any bad reviews, for a cheap AI week in the sun this place was lovely and I'd stay there again definitely

Well what can i say?? Me and my partner had a fanastic holiday, and what made it was the hotel and its staff. The hotel was a 2 second walk from the beach (make sure you find the gate at the side of the hotel, which is open untill 3am) Also your only a 2 min walk from the town where there are loads of restaurants. We didnt eat out but we did visit the N Joy bar which we had a good laugh in. The blue lagoon is only a 20-25 min walk or you can get a shuttle bus from the hotel to there own lil strip and you dont have to pay to get in that way, we took a pedelo out into the blue lagoon which was only 20TL, you got it for an hour. We stayed in the hotel most mights, as the staff are fanastic, Muhammet behind the bar is fanastic always smiling and ending up knowing you order, dont even have to ask sometimes :) there are a couple of others behind the bar which are also fanastic but i dont remember there names :( The animation team: Gokhan, Mesut, Murat, Omer, Akin (who dragged me on stage and i made fool of myself but did win the miss compitation), Fatma, all the animation team are brilliant, so good with the kids and there so friendly, they dragged me into a an arm wrestling comp and i won all 3 goes :) they are what makes this hotel i think. The food is good, always a good selection, might have to que at night for the meat and fish sometimes, but its worth it. Nice choice for breakfast and lunch. The restaurant staff are brilliant, quick with clearing plates and will take drink order even tho you can do it yourself. Free cocktails at the pool bar between 8-9pm well worth having a few of them :)

The hotel its self is very clean, only downfall is theres only 1 light in the bathroom over the sink so abit dark over the bath tub, but didnt bother us to much. They have 3 pools which is all in seperate parts so nothing feels over crowed with people.

We will def stay here again!!!! You got 5 stars from me so keep up the good work!!!!

Amazing hotel in a stunning location, excellent value for money. The hotel was always clean and rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. The food was nice, but sometimes you had to wait in a line for a while, however there was a good variety and something available all day. All staff from all parts of the hotel were happy and cheerful and really helpful. There is plenty to do in the area and at the hotel with daily entertainment from the entertainment team Mesut, Gokhan and Murat. They were all lovely and really helped to make my holiday the best i have had! I cant wait to go back!!! I highly reccomend.

This was our first vacation in Turkey although we had previously visited Istanbul and Kusadasi whilst on a cruise of the Mediterranean. The hotel was about 80 minutes’ drive from the airport, but as our hotel was the last on a fairly long list we took over 2 hours 20 minutes to reach the resort. We had landed at about 20:30 and arrived tired and just a bit hungry at 00:30 in the morning. Well the check-in process was very quick and the receptionist had stated that we could if we were desperate go straight to the dining room to get something to eat and drink first. This was a very warm and considerate welcome and much appreciated. In fact the whole experience in this hotel was at the same standard, with the staff going out of the way to be helpful and they were always polite.
The hotel was built sometime in the 80’s and was in a good state or repair for the most part. Several of the chalets by the pools looked as if they could do with a coat of paint, but our own room was nicely decorated and had the benefit of kettle and tea provided. There are 3 pools at this hotel and 2 of them were mostly used by adults with the one nearest reception having a child pool. Around the complex were small bars where you could get free drinks including tea and coffee from the vending machines. The animation team were fairly active and tried to encourage some participation in water sports or poolside gymnastics and they weren’t too upset if you told them you weren’t interested.
The beach was about 2 minutes’ walk from the hotel and at first glance looked amazing. It was not until you ventured onto it toward the sea that you realized that it was a sand and pebble beach and the nearer you got to the sea the more prolific the pebbles were. This is a beach were some sort of beach shoe is most advisable as getting into and out of the sea could be very painful. One thing to mention about the resort in general is the amount of Para Gliding and Para sailing that goes on here is amazing. Almost continuously you could look up and see some brave soul jumping off a cliff and gently descending down to the beach. It appears that this resort is well known for the gentle breeze and good conditions for this sport.
Waling for about 5 minutes down the beach brings you to the town of Olu Deniz proper. This is a small bustling town with hundreds of bars / restaurants and hotels all offering mostly the same cuisine with a fairly standard price range. Prices seemed to be in Turkish Lira but they would accept all currencies especially Euros and Sterling. Our Thomson rep had advised us to use the ATM and withdraw in Turkish Lira as this seemed the best exchange. I would recommend that you check the rates before but this worked very well for us, especially as we used a Euro Debit Card which incurs no charges. The owners of the shops and bars had the usual people inviting you to try their fare, but they were not pushy as in some resorts and most were jovial and good natured. Sometimes just showing them your all inclusive bracelet was all that was needed.
Just outside of the main town is the road to the Blue Lagoon, this is worth a trip just to see the sights, but we refused to pay the toll from the beach just on principle really. Overall my impressions of this resort is very pleasing, with a surprising amount of greenery and flowers in abundance. If you do travel outside of the resort and we did a couple of trips and were amazed at the number of huge greenhouses growing Tomatoes and other fruit and vegetables.
As a short holiday in May we found this part of Turkey both refreshing and peaceful. The weather was warm 25 – 30 C and the sea was clean and a wonderful colour. The food was excellent in our hotel and very varied with plenty of fresh fish and local meats. Overall a great experience. One more thing that the hotel offered was a Turkish bath and massage, these are well worth going in for. This was an amazing experience that left us feeling relaxed and calm. Do this at the beginning of your stay and they say it will prevent sunburn and leave the skin feeling very clean.

I’ve tried to be not too critical
My wife and I Travelled in September 2011. Picked this hotel after reading the reviews the brochure description and the recommendation of the travel agent!
How wrong could they have been! We arrived at 04:30 and had booked a double room, we were given a twin room with bunk beds and not enough room to move past each other. We refused and were given a room by the pool which was better but I got sprayed on every night by the faulty air conditioning unit which is on the wall next to the bed. The shower leaked and the lights were hanging off the ceiling.
The welcome meeting was just an opportunity to sell trips nothing about the area, yes you get information and a map but the rest of the meeting was local business plying for trade.
The 1st member of staff to acknowledge us was the cleaner who we saw on the 2nd day other staff walked past without a hello or eye contact. Not good service! The pool was clean but some of the sun beds and parasols were broken and the free towels were threadbare and rough. The pool entertainment was a joke water polo every day and one game of darts, the music wasn’t any better Doris day does not put you in a party mood! Entertainment team poor. The food was very poor and never really hot just warm. The chefs walked around the restaurant as if they had done a good job they need to improve. At breakfast you can have an omelette cooked in front of you but the omelette is under cooked and full of oil because the chef would sooner show off shaking the pan to cause a flame to shoot up than to cook properly. I had fried eggs but again had to ask for them to be cooked longer. Lunch was dull and boring. Same stuff every day and again not hot. After lunch the trays of food were stacked on top of each other with the trays touching the food below and this would be served at dinner called something else! You can eat from the ‘Show Buffet’ but most of the food was cooked in the kitchen first, not much of a show! The snack area in the Olive Garden was worse. The chef who prepared the food never once washed his hands after touching utensils or different foods. We watched the him fill the sauce dispensers and scrape what had ran down the side of the container back in with his hands. You can have burgers but they were pre cooked and re heated but cold in the middle as for the rest of the food it was tough and cold except for the chips which were soggy and cold because they are put in cold oil then heated up. Food hygiene? Not any! The staff treat you like you are in their way stopping them from doing their jobs. The only person who really tried was Engin a credit to the hotel he made you feel looked after and not just a commodity I know he was doing his job but he went that bit further. I think he should train the rest of the staff how to give good customer service. Total opposite was Sonar who really is arrogant and needs a personality transplant.
You can get spa treatments but go to the strip it is cheaper and better done.
The beach is described as one of Turkey’s finest sand and shingle stretches it isn’t. It is sharp sand with bands of stones with bits of concrete so be careful not to trip and the brochure picture has edited out the masses of sun beds and parasols which you have to hire at the beach huts. The sea is warm but difficult to get out of because of the steep angle better to let the sea wash you out. Warning stay out of the sea at around 3pm as a white scum washes in on the tide I don’t know what it is but it looks disgusting. Never got that in the sea at Side.
My opinion is that this is just about a 3* hotel and Thomson should either demand improvements, lower the prices or drop it. I personally would never consider this hotel again or recommend it to anyone I feel as if I wasted my hard earned money. Never again!!

Room tip: If you really want to go here after reading the reviews do not accept the old stobe rooms. Ask for a room in the newer blocks.
