It may be a guest house but the Knysna Belle has a lot of the trappings of a boutique hotel even down to fluffy white towelling bathrobes! Set on the waterfront the Knysna Belle has lovely views over the lagoon to the Knysna Heads and is a very quiet location. There is a nice deck and communal sitting room at the front of the hotel where guests can relax and take in the view maybe with a "Sundowner" from the honesty bar. The pool is a little on the small side but has a great sunbathing area in the lovely private garden to the rear of the hotel that is full of birdlife. Breakfasts are a real treat, beautifully presented and cooked to order. Service was great from Candice, Gillian and the team although it was a pity that there was no-one living on site. Overall a very relaxing and comfortable place to stay.

Room tip: There are two rooms at the front with private decks and great views. The rooms at the back have garden views although guests can use the deck at the front to take in views of the lagoon. All rooms are quiet.

Great B&B in a excellent location overlooking the Knysna lagoon & within metres of the beach. Excellent range of facilities including free use of kayaks, canoe & bikes, pool and a well stocked honesty bar. Although we didn't have time to use them we noticed they also had beach chairs, umbrella/cool box etc if you wanted to go for a picnic. The whole family enjoyed our stay.

Room tip: We prefered the rooms overlooking the lagoon, had our own private deck

There cannot be a better place to stay in Knysna than the Knysna Belle! The website says it prides itself on its welcome and it could not have been better. The guest house is stunning and the views are tremendous. It must be one of the most relaxing places on the planet. It wold be my first choice of accommodation on the Western Cape on any future holiday. We were here for two nights ... Not enough. The staff are so helpful and we were invited by the owners to take in the evening view from the Captain's Quarters. The decor is delightful throughout.

The pool area is tranquil and relaxing. The breakfast was excellent. My only complaint is against myself. We weren't here long enough. Next time.....

Room tip: We had the Nauticus room with our own patio overlooking the lagoon. We loved it because of the privacy.

We were treated to an excellent welcome glass of wine in the Captains Quarters by the owners. We stayed in Emu, a very comfortable spacious room with its own veranda and wonderful views of Featherbed and the Lagoon. We were treated to the best breakfasts that we had in South AFrica and everyone was very friendly and helpful. There is a very useful Restaurant book with reviews and ratings by guests. This is somewhere we hope to return to.

Room tip: All front rooms have lagoon views, the rear rooms overlook a delighful garden and pool.
